LCI English Center was founded in 1995 and is located in Denver, Colorado. LCI is considered one of the premier English schools in the USA. LCI is accredited by CEA and approved by the U.S. government to issue the I-20 Form. LCI English Center provides General English Program, Academic English Program, Executive English Program, Test Preparation Program, and others. LCI also has conditional admission and TOEFL waiver agreements with universities and community colleges in Colorado, such as the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, University of Northern Colorado, Colorado School of Mines, Regis University, Colorado State University Pueblo College of Business, Mesa State College, Western State College, Redstone College and others. Summary on all universities LCI works with. 1. University of Colorado in Colorado Springs UCCS is located in Colorado Springs, which is a 45-minute drive from Denver. UCCS is ranked by US News and World Reports as #32, Universities – Master’s (West), which is a good ranking. The parent university, University of Colorado in Boulder, is ranked nationally as #77 for national universities (incredible!). UCCS offers bachelors, masters and PhDs. UCCS also has an excellent engineering college. More info at . LCI has a TOEFL waiver with UCCS for LCI Level 5 students. 2. University of Northern Colorado The University of Northern Colorado (UNC) is located in Greeley, Colorado, approximately 45 miles from Denver. UNC has six academic colleges offering more than 100 undergraduate and 100 graduate programs, providing students with a wide choice of majors in quality educational programs. With a rich history, dedicated faculty, active students and Division I athletic teams, UNC is large enough to provide true university opportunities and small enough to treat students as individuals. LCI has a TOEFL waiver with UNC for LCI Level 5 students and UNC can do conditional admission for LCI students. For more information about UNC, please visit www.unco.edu 3. Colorado School of Mines Colorado School of Mines (CSM) is located in Golden, Colorado- just minutes away from Denver. CSM is a public research university devoted to engineering and applied science. It has the highest admissions standards of any public university in Colorado and among the highest of any public university in the U.S. Colorado School of Mines is ranked 29th on the list of Top 50 Public National Universities, and 72nd among Best National Universities, both public and private, according to the 2011 edition of America’s Best Colleges by U.S. News and World Report. LCI has a conditional admission agreement with CSM for all bachelor’s programs. For more information, please visit www.mines.edu 4. Regis University Regis University is located in Denver and is ranked by US News as #28, Universities – Master’s (West). Regis offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate. www.regis.edu LCI has a TOEFL waiver with Regis for LCI Level 5 students. 5. Mesa State College Mesa State is located in Colorado’s wine country, the Grand Valley, in the city of Grand Junction, CO. It is a fourth tier school in a beautiful location. Mesa has a good MBA program and also offers partnership programs with CU Boulder for engineering (again, CU Boulder is ranked nationally as #77). It is a fourth tier school that markets itself as a “destination school” (the location is so beautiful, you pick Western just to study there). Western offers bachelor’s degrees, and is starting an MBA program soon. LCI has a TOEFL waiver with Western for LCI Level 5 students. 7. Colorado State University – Pueblo CSU Pueblo is a subsidiary of Colorado State University in Fort Collins (CSU), which is ranked 125 for national universities (great!). CSU Pueblo is a fourth tier school, and students sometimes use it as a backdoor into CSU. CSU Pueblo offers bachelor’s and master’s. LCI has a TOEFL waiver with CSU Pueblo for LCI Level 5 students. 8. “Proprietary Universities” LCI has agreements with some proprietary, or professional, schools. These are “career colleges” that tend to offer degrees specific to a profession not offered by state universities. These schools include: Westwood - (business, construction management, paralegal certificates, automotive. etc.) Redstone- redstone.edu (Aviation maintenance) Johnson and Wales- www.jwu.edu (culinary arts, hospitality management)
