The biggest strength of our school is, without a doubt, our team: young, international, lively and, of course, very knowledgeable.
The methods used by our teachers range from “task-based” to the communicative method. All are excellent at giving students tools to learn the Italian language in an intuitive, friendly manner. The courses we offer vary in duration and intensity. The standard course consists of 20 hours per week in a group setting. The combination course is the standard course with an additional 5 hours per week of individual lessons. The Intensive course is designed to be more demanding (this course is officially recognized as Bildungsurlaub in almost all the German Länder) and consists of 20 hours of group lessons plus 10 hours of lessons per week. Lastly, it is also possible to build an individual package based on your particular needs and how many hours you desire.
Classes are usually held in the morning at our school on Via Fermi, which is a stone’s throw away from the beach. The school has recently been renovated turning it into an open inviting place, with 5 bright classrooms where our students feel at home.

What differentiates us from other schools is the care we devote to making our guests’ stays the most pleasant possible. Our program of activities is rich and carefully selected. On Monday, after the division into groups and classes, Valerio, our young director, will lead you through the streets of the village in what he calls a “semi-serious tour” to discover Cefalù’s best kept secrets. In the following days there will be films and cooking classes in the vibrant garden of Villa Caterina, and unique excursions to Palermo by day and by night, to the pristine and virtually unknown ruins of Solunto or the deepest part of Madonie Reserve with our special Sicilia sconosciuta. What's more? Mount Etna and Taormina, Monreale, Agrigento’s Valley of the Temples and the Scala dei Turchi, the islands of Stromboli, Panarea, Vulcano, and Lipari are just some of the other destinations that you can discover with us. And also many other activities such as boat trips, snorkeling, paragliding, kitesurfing and scuba diving. You definitely should come and visit us!
Accommodation
We offer different types of lodging to meet all of your needs. Single and double rooms in apartments with other students, entire apartments at our beautiful holiday house Villa Caterina, apartments in the historical center of the town, hotel rooms and more.
Falling in love with Sicily is simple, but it is even more so if in addition to appreciating the natural and artistic beauty, you are able to immerse yourself into Sicilian culture and interact with the people living here. We look forward to taking the first steps of your Italian journey with you.

Tout d'abord un grand "grazie mille" à mon enseignante de ces deux semaines Eliana, qui a su faire évoluer mon niveau d'italien et reprendre mes lacunes accumulées aux cours des dernières années. L'école, Solemar Academy, est disponible dynamique et offre des conseilles et des activités hors des sentiers battus. Je recommande vivement cette structure et son enseignement qui s'adapte aux différents profiles. En règle général, les "vacances-études" ne sont pas les vacances que je préfère mais après cette expérience, je reviendrai et je recommande !

I attended italian classes for a couple of weeks last year. I can recommend it to anyone interested not only in learning italian but also living the southern italian hospitality. The course was well structured, the teacher (Simona in my case) was really really nice and always willing to explain and teach with original methodologies. Everyone in the school were helpful and friendly and the tours organized are worth it. I don't know when, but I know that for sure I will come back!

Die zwei Monate, die ich vergangenes Jahr in Cefalù verbringen konnte, waren eine unvergessliche Zeit und eine wunderbare Erfahrung. An der Solemar habe ich in dieser Zeit einen Standard Gruppenkurs besucht. Die Gruppengröße lag zwischen 3 und 6 Schülern. Mein Ziel war es in dieser Zeit mein Sprachlevel von B1 auf C1 zu steigern und dieses habe ich erreicht. Vor dem ersten Tag wurde ein Einstufungstest durchgeführt, um die Gruppen dem Level entsprechend zusammenzustellen. Während des Unterrichts wird sehr stark auf die Wünsche und Interessen der Schüler eingegangen, sodass es nie langweilig wird, man sich jeden Tag aufs neue auf die Schule freut und viel Spaß hat. Die Lehrer sind sehr sympathisch, freundlich und sie geben einem immer das Gefühl willkommen zu sein. Cefalù ist die perfekte Kleinstadt für einen Sprachkurs, egal wie lang dieser dauert. Aufgrund der Größe findet man sich sehr schnell zurecht und die Einheimischen sind wahnsinnig freundlich und hilfsbereit. Man kommt sehr schnell mit Ihnen in Kontakt und hat so ganz leicht die Möglichkeit das Gelernte außerhalb der Schule direkt anzuwenden. In diversen Restaurant und Bars kann lecker gegessen und getrunken werden und natürlich das Meer, der Strand, die Sonne und... Gelato. Fazit: Ich habe sehr viel gelernt, mich wohl gefühlt und würde die Schule und Sizilien für einen Sprachkurs jederzeit weiterempfehlen.

Ich hatte 4 Wochen von Mo. - Fr. Einzelunterricht mit 3 Lektionen täglich. Simona, meine Lehrerin, die übrigens auch Deutsch spricht, hat die Lektionen so gestaltet, dass die 4 Wochen wie im Flug vorbei gingen. Wir haben viel über die sizilianische Küche und Gebräuche gesprochen, was mich eben besonders interessiert hat. Sie kennt sich da auch super aus. Valerio und Giuseppe managen die Schule sehr gut und können einem bei allem weiterhelfen. Fazit: cinque stelle! *****
