One on One class

I had Chinese private lessons, shared apartment housing and an internship when I visited China. The Chinese lessons were with my own private teacher a couple of times every week. Of course there is a chance that one on one tutoring can be plain and almost boring at times but actually I really appreciated the effort that my tutor really put. She chose a great textbook for me to learn from, when you get all that attention from one teacher is really helpful and I know my improvement is very high. We moved at a pace that I was comfortable with, and the timing was really flexible depending on my availability from my internship work. I think that is the best thing about having a private tutor. I learnt early on that reviewing a lesson before actually studying it is helpful considering the Chinese style of teaching, and then extra study time on my own again. My tutor really had an impact on me, she took me to a lot of places so that learning Chinese wasn’t just about looking at a book. With Go Abroad China I got help with most of the preparation before arriving in Beijing, like visa, accommodation and finding a professional tutor; when I arrived in China everything was ready for me so it was easy living there.

Chinese program in Beijing

I studied Chinese in high school before for around 3 years but I still consider myself as a beginner. I was in Beijing for just a month but I feel like from the lessons that I had, my confidence has definitely gotten better; I studied with people who had a higher level than me, but then others seemed a bit more behind than me. In class, we usually poke Chinese with each other, in the beginning it was a little frustrating because I couldn't understand some people very well, but with time it really got better and I got more comfortable.

With time, my comprehension also got better. I began understanding my teacher more clearly and classes were great.

I was in Beijing the entire time and enjoyed it. I still think its an odd city, it has both old and new, beautiful and ugly, open and closed. I enjoyed karaoke during the weekends, talking to taxi drivers in Chinese whenever I took a cab, visiting the Great Wall, going out to eat hotpot, which is very famous in Beijing.

I am happy with the service I got from Go Abroad China, I searched for a long time looking for an affordable program that I could join for a short time and they were able to help me.

The Best Way to Learn Chinese Online

Last year, I decided to take an online Chinese course so that I could learn the language and gain valuable, real-world skills that would help me in my career. After looking at several different options, I settled on studying Chinese with Go Abroad China and had an incredible experience learning Chinese online, which I highly recommend!

I saw an ad for Go Abroad China in my college's career center and was immediately drawn in by their seemingly reliable and well-organized website. The price seemed too good to be true, but after reading through their information and talking with a representative from Go Abroad China, I became convinced that they were not some scam trying to take advantage of international students. I had no idea if their program would work for me; however, I decided that it was worth spending money on a trip (for all practical purposes) rather than spend $2,000 on textbooks or expensive online lessons (I'm cheap). Luckily, Go Abroad China's program turned out to be one of my best learning Chinese online experiences.

I think The best way to learn Chinese online is by hiring a tutor, not an online course. Online courses are good for supplementary learning, but if you're serious about learning, you need someone in your life that can consistently correct your pronunciation and correct your mistakes. It's also important to be able to practice speaking outside of a classroom environment. If you go abroad china can help you find a suitable tutor that can help guide you along in all facets of learning Chinese and make sure you don't get scammed or cheated.

My Internship Abroad in China and South Korea

How can you describe an experience that’s truly incredible? That’s the challenge I was faced with when trying to encapsulate what it was like to work with Goabroadchina on my year abroad in China. It’s been 10 months since I returned from that amazing experience, and even now, I can’t get the smile off my face as I reflect on all the awesome memories I made over there.
To be hons, I was scared at first, but once I got to know everyone, my nervousness turned into a we're all in it together attitude. The people on Go Abroad China provided a network of support and encouragement throughout my time abroad that helped me become more confident and helped me through difficult situations. I'm not disappointed by my decision to have left for China, and I'm happy that I've taken advantage of everything Go abroad China has offered! There are so many opportunities out there for students to experience amazing places around the world –– don't let fear or apprehension keep you from trying something new! You'll be not disappointed!

Great experience at BLCU

I had the opportunity of a lifetime and got to study abroad in BLCU in Beijing China, through Go Abroad China I always knew I wanted to study abroad, but it was an overwhelming thought with all of the options of places to go, figuring out how to make it work with my university and all the little details in between. GAC helped make the entire process smooth and enjoyable. I had an advisor the whole way through who helped me make sure I was as ready as possible for my trip abroad. Once I was there, I had the most amazing 2 months of my life.

At BLCU University Classes began soon after registration and the pace of learning was definitely not what I was used to before. Back at home, sentence structures and phrases that would take me at least a month to fully master, at BLCU University it was just a week’s task. Although in the beginning I felt a bit overwhelmed, after a while, though, things got much better and I adjusted comfortably. One thing I am still reeling about even now is the amount of homework that the Chinese teachers assigned! Now I understand why they say at least six months of serious Mandarin/ Chinese study will lead to accelerated results. The good thing about BLCU University is that they will place you in a class of people who have a similar Chinese ability to you. Learning was fun, interactive and it’s relatively simple to feel motivated if everyone around you is also determined

I had different teachers for each aspect of Chinese study: listening, speaking, reading and comprehensive Chinese. I particularly enjoyed the speaking lessons as they were about group work and small oral presentations in a class of approximately 10 people. It was fun interacting with my classmates coming from different countries, yet all trying our best to communicate in Chinese. One important tip that was surprisingly effective for me was surrounding myself with friends whose English wasn’t so good, this was good in that we were forced to communicate in Chinese and practice everything we learnt.

I created life long friendships, got to see the most spectacular views and most of all I got to experience a different culture and truly appreciate what they had to offer. I highly encourage everyone to study abroad!

Learning Chinese at BLCU

I moved to Beijing and was there from the summer of 2015 to summer 2016 to learn Chinese for a year. I got help applying for the program through Go Abroad China; they always spoke to me and my mom and explained a lot of things that I didn’t understand in the beginning.

I didn’t live too far from Wudaokou, that’s where BLCU is. At BLCU, I had many classmates, some were exchange students, others were learning Chinese just like me. Everyday in class we were always told to speak Chinese to each other. My main teacher was Ms Zhang and she taught grammar and oral lessons.

During the weekends I would usually relax with my friends, sometimes the people at Go Abroad China would invite us to go and do something together. The staff from GAC that I met were really pleasant and spoke English well. I actually met several other people during this time and we are still in contact. My Chinese has improved a lot after learning for one year.
