The International Language School of the YMCA has been located in the heart of downtown Montreal, Canada since 1965. We offer English and French courses all year long. Levels from Beginner to Advanced. Grammar, Conversation, Pronunciation, Writing, Business English/French, TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, TFI and DELF preparation courses. We also organize language courses for Groups (classes + activities + accommodation). We are the Official TOEIC and TFI Testing Centre in Montréal. The minimum age is 18 and the average age of our students is between 25 and 29. We also offer 2 types of Summer camps for younger students (between 9 and 17 years old). Intensive programs include FREE access to our fitness centre and to the internet. Our fitness centre offers more than 50 different sports and activities. We have 27 very bright classrooms, 2 computer-assisted language labs and a student lounge. Our school offers homestay accommodation with Canadian families. You may also choose to stay in our student residence.

Learn English in an intensive Day Course, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This program is a combination of the Semi-Intensive Program offered in the morning and one of the following eight Enriched Courses offered in the afternoon:
“Conversation” or
“Pronunciation” or
“TOEFL iBT” or
''IELTS preparation course'' or
“Business English” or
“Creative Speak” or
“English @ Work” or
“Reading and Writing Made Easy”.
The courses are taught in the classroom and the laboratory. A free YMCA fitness centre membership is offered to students for the duration of the session.

This program is for students who want to enter a Canadian University, but don’t have the required level of English, or for those who want to familiarize themselves with the Canadian Education System. We facilitate our student’s transition toward a Canadian College.
First, students will take English lessons in order to attain the required level to pursue studies in an English-speaking establishment, as well as specific classes pertaining to the Canadian university system (taking notes, academic writing techniques, exam preparation…). Following this program, students will be oriented and advised on academic choices such as programs, specializations, optional classes, etc, by one of our international student counsellor.

If you are looking for a more individualized approach that is tailored to your needs, this is the type of course for you. Your instructor will pace the course to suit your learning style and you will have the time to explore the concepts that you lack in greater depth. A private class will also give you intensive oral practice and you will make faster progress.
