ETC has been teaching English in preparation for academic studies and employment since 1993. We accept students from a wide range of ages and levels of English competence. We teach Academic English (IELTS, FCE, TOEIC and TOEFL), General English, Employment English and Medical English (OET). We are a registered TOEIC testing centre. After studying at ETC many of our students have successfully completed their academic studies at tertiary institutions in New Zealand and around the world. ETC has two campuses: one in Wellington and another in Palmerston North. Both campuses are in city centres, near student accommodation. Our current roll is 170 full-time students from 25 different countries. In Palmerston North, we have a special arrangement with the local polytechnic (UCOL) for direct entry to their courses, without the need to pass external exams like IELTS. In Wellington we collaborate with Weltec, NMIT, Whitireia and Natcol. With our small class sizes and committed teachers we are able to deal with students on an individual basis. Our carefully selected home-stay accommodation provides a safe and friendly environment. ETC's goal is to support and encourage students to develop academically and socially preparing them for today's global society. We offer special programmes such as Farmstay & English, Work & Study and Demi-Pair.
