I found this course by searching online, I was there for 2 weeks in May. Exactly as the description on the website says, the classes are a maximum of 4 students, in my case we were only 2 students for a week and 3 the next week. The afternoon trips are extremely useful for learn new words and to see part of the N.I, which is a very beautiful country anyway. We even had extra free activities, but best of all, the whole course was 100% English. As for Sonia and Gavin and the professors they are extremely knowledgeable, helpful and sociable. I absolutely recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn English, Sonia is also an excellent cook.

Very friendly enviroment, feel like family! Inmersive Engish language and culture course and stay.
Absolutely recomended!
The course fulfilled my expectations My priority was to improve my listening and communication skills.

Un corso veramente utile

Ho trovato per caso questo corso navigando in internet, leggendo le recensioni sembrava diverso dai soliti ed ho deciso di provare. Posso dire che ha soddisfatto appieno le mie aspettative. Gli insegnanti sono molto preparati e soprattutto pazienti perché disposti a correggerti mille volte (anche sugli stessi errori). Con la giusta dose di volontà e dedizione i risultati sono veramente incredibili perché con loro si parla inglese 12 ore al giorno.
Consigliatissimo!!!

Movingon

The was like a big family, we spoke English all the time. We had all the meals together, some classes one to one, others in group. The house und rooms are big and beautiful. The host are teachers too and very friendly.

Enriching experience

I've had the opportunity to spend a week at Mouving on courses and the truth... it hasn't disappointed me, quite the opposite! The combination of: English classes in the morning (with different teachers and therefore different methodologies that enrich your knowledge), sharing lunches and dinners with Sonia and Gavin, as well as cultural visits / excursions / walks in the afternoons accompanied by Sonia, has done for me this week something more than a simple English course. It has been a very enriching experience on all levels. I also had the opportunity to meet other students, which enriched this week even more on a personal level. I would also like to highlight what an excellent cook Sonia is, who made me delight with each of her dishes. In addition, I would like to comment that the city in which they are located (Bangor) is charming, next to the sea, and invites you to disconnect.
To finish, I would have liked to have been able to stay longer. Personally, I think the ideal is at least 2 weeks. So don't hesitate, if you want to improve your English, Mouving on Courses is the right place

Good experience

A full immersion in English but also a friendly atmosphere, professional teachers, and lovely hosts, Sonia and Gavin, thank you for such a great time¡¡. And specially thanks to lovely Deirdre, Sonia´s Mum, I will never forget your scones. It was a ptiy I could only stay two weeks, but, even though, now I feel more confident in English. wonderful experience

I discovered MovingOn courses absolutely by chance, while looking for something different from the usual commercial offerings that, over the years, have never allowed me to learn English as I would have liked. My professional growth necessarily passes by a good knowledge of English, and I confess that I had almost given up hope. Fortunately, I got involved once again and found something really special, useful, unique and absolutely effective.
Not only is the course highly personalized, but the owners of both the school and the host guest house are incredible people, excellent professionals, capable of imparting to you not only skills, but enthusiasm and drive. I was only able to spend two weeks in Bangor, but I felt the difference. My goal is to come back soon to finish the course. The people who come there are special, they want to get involved, to experiment, to immerse themselves in the language and experience. Last but not least there is great food, Sonia is passionate about cooking and prepares delicious dishes. I had really a great time

More than I expected, the best place!

I was in MovingOn Courses for four weeks. It is not just a course, it is a complete experience. If you are looking for something real, different, professional and friendly at the same time; If you are really committed to improving your English, MovingOn Courses is the best place, why? 100% English, really 100%, classes with 4 students max, live with teachers, extra activities, no commuting, friendly atmosphere...
4 students (max), in my case we were 2 or 3 students, you can ask for some topic that you are interested in, ask all you need, improve your pronunciation..
The teachers are very professional with a wide experience (because you have more than one, i had four, this enriches your experience), different accents, styles... but well coordinated.
You live with teachers and the other students so, it is not just the classes, you whole day becomes in a class. Lunch and dinner is a time to speak and do some presentations that you have prepared. The food is healthy, tasty and Sonia cooks veeeery well and she is very considered with our preferences or intolerances, there are always fresh fruit avaibable.
In the afternoon there are study trips, you visit different and interesting places while you are learning moooore English, a perfect way to remember at the same time enjoy the open air, normally you finish the trip visiting some special pubs :). This is when we you review your mistakes and any new vocabulary. It is another class

Amazing Experience

Hi Guys, I strongly recommend MovingonCourses in Bangor, Northern Ireland. Their Intensive English course was very useful for me. I lived in a home with teachers and that encouraged me to speak English as much as possible. Meals and afternoon activities are with teachers, so you will speak only in English. This is more than a Super Intensive English Course, it is a Full English Immersion in a family-environment. I stayed there for 2 months and a half and my English has improved a lot.

Amazing english academy, recommended!

I’ve been here for three months during the corona virus lockdown, and I can tell you MovingOn courses is more than just an English academy, It’s a lifetime experience and once you enter in this house it’s definitely going to be your second family.
In a normal day, the classes start at 8:30 a.m. and here there is the first cool thing about MovingOn courses, your room is in the same house as the classrooms are, you just need to go down the stairs and enjoy your class.
The class in the morning are usually three, with three different teacher and other 3 students at maximum. I think having more than one teacher helps a lot because you can listening different accents and different way of speaking. They let you speak as much as possible understading where you need to focus more and designing week after week lessons adhoc for you!
When the morning is over, do not think there is time to switch back to your native language or relax, if you are in this academy you must be aware that the day is literally 100% in english.
At lunch (the same format also for the dinner) is when the real english starts, you will eat with Sonia and Gavin talking about casual topics like news, life, hobbies. There isn’t any better way to use what you’ve just learned, and don’t worry they will always help you, correct and explain your mistakes, just speak and even when you think you have nothing to say they are so amazing in giving you everyday new stimulus!
Sonia is a great cook, the food is always delicious (i’m italian and I have quite high standard) and if you any preference just tell her without problem.
Once a week when the lunch/dinner is over you have to give a little presentation (about whatever topic you fancy) in front of the teachers and the other students, which will challenge your english skills and it’ll train yourself speaking to a little audience.
After lunch, it’s time to begin the study trip, the teachers will bring you to visit interesting places in the area, and again the learning never stops because every place is a good place to learn new vocabolary, and when you learn something in a particular situation that you are in, it’s even more effective! Before returning at home a stop at the cafe or a typical Irish pub will conclude the study trip, here you will play with the new vocabolary in order to revise in a funny way.
Finally if you aren’t exhausted yet after dinner there are also other activies that you can do like visit one of the several pubs in Bangor, go to the cinema (On Tuesday there are cheap tickets) or just hang out with other students and keep practicing.
About Bangor, you won’t be disappointed is a nice town on the sea, with a long long coastal path where you can work out, walk, explore it’s a great scenery! Plus it’s plenty of typical pubs and restaurants and Belfast it’s just 30 minute bt train and the train station is 5 minutes’ walk.
The room was comfortable and spotless with television and desk where you can do your homework. (yes there are also a lot of homework!)
If your plan is to stay for a long period of time, you can decide the work/study option to decrease the costs as I did, Gavin will always find some new job for you.
MovingOn course is a genuine product that works perfectly and I strongly recommend it if you aim to improve your english, the enviroment is relaxed but at the same time very serious about the english language. I feel my english exponetially improved and much more confident while I speak
And now a little extra: I ended up in a problematic situation due the coronavirus, I wasn’t able to go back to home because all the flights to Italy were cancelled, and I’m sure all the other academy would have closed forcing me into an emergency situation, what happened with MovingOn was different though! I was the only student left and they host me for two extra week with a very special price understanding the situation but mostly they had still given me classes, meals with teachers and study trips (respecting the social distancing and rules at time being in UK), they genuinely put people before the business that in these days it’s impressive, I couldn’t have asked for more.
Thank you Gavin & Sonia you’ve been my lockdown and my company in all of this, thank to my teachers Chris and Brian and to all the students I’ve met, it was one of the most wonderful experience of my life and I will remember all of you forever.
