LTL Mandarin School offers small group and 1on1 classes, homestays, shared apartments, 24/7 support and a very active social program at it's schools in Beijing, Shanghai and Chengde.
Most students - about 80% - live with homestay families and the school is very much focused on offering an immersion environment where students speak Chinese not only in but also outside the class room and immerse themselves into Chinese culture.
The school is an HSK test center and accredited and regularly inspected by the German, Chinese and Swedish governments, as well as the International Association of Language Centers (IALC).
The school is very centrally located, in Beijing in the middle of the Central Business District, in Shanghai in the old French Concessions, and in both locations less than 300m from the next subway stop.
Students come from all over the world and the school often feels a bit more like a little "family" of travelers who came to China to explore and learn it's language and culture.

Mandarin Group Classes
are perfect for beginners who would like to immerse themselves in Chinese language while interacting with other students and making new friends. This intensive course includes 20 hours per week of Small Group Class. A Small Group Class on average has 3/4 students, but is guaranteed to never have more than 6 students to make sure everyone still gets individual interaction with our teachers and can really improve their Chinese quickly. Our Mandarin group classes follow a general curriculum covering all aspects of the language from speaking, listening, reading to writing with the aim of achieving general fluency in Chinese.
Mandarin Group Classes and Individual Classes
are perfect for those students interested in intensive Chinese study. This course includes 20 hours per week of Small Group Class and 10 hours per week of individual class. Here the student not only benefits from general Mandarin tuition but also from individual personalized coaching with a teacher. Students who wish to achieve fluency quickly or only have a short time to study, this option guarantees rapid progress.

The HSK (汉语水平考试 hànǚ shuǐpíng kǎoshì) is the official Chinese language test, recognized by all universities in China and most universities in other countries. It is divided into six levels roughly following the European Common Framework of References for Languages. Beijing is the world’s biggest HSK testing centre, as the department of the Chinese Education Ministry in charge of administering it (Hanban) is based in Beijing. LTL is a registered HSK testing centre and offers monthly exam dates.
HSK classes at LTL are taught by teachers that focus on helping students to prepare for the HSK exam. Many of those teachers are certified HSK examiners themselves and can help students to understand the structure of the test, while classes on the vocabulary, grammar, and sentence patterns that will are required to pass the HSK level the student is preparing for. All HSK classes are taught 1-on-1 and are only available in Beijing.

The LTL Chinese immersion programs combine a course in an international city like Beijing where you can first settle into China and improve your Chinese skills before moving to the a complete immersion environment in Chengde. Two hours Northeast of Beijing, Chengde is a different world, where you will visit historic temples, hike in the mountains and get away from all the other 老外, Lǎowài (foreigners), experience Chinese life and be fully immersed into a Chinese language and culture environment. No English spoken.
