FOUR-WEEK FRENCH IMMERSION
Overview of the program
This program is intended for school groups or groups of people who wish to experience a complete French immersion offering formal French classes while discovering a whole new culture. The schedule of classroom sessions, workshops, organized cultural and sporting activities and excursions maximizes the students’ exposure to the French language and culture to ensure an ideal learning experience. On the first day of the program, students will be assessed to ensure proper class placement. Qualified, experienced and friendly instructors work with students to achieve the proficiency expected at each level, from beginner to advanced.

3 beginner levels
3 intermediate levels
2 advanced levels

Some levels may not be offered due to an insufficient number of students. Placement tests are given on the first day of school and groups are formed by levels. Classes may contain approximately 20 people.

Eligibility (12 years old and over)
International student applicants must be attending at least Grade 7 (secondary 1 in Québec)

Take French lessons, offered privately or in small groups and tailored to your personal needs.
Learn from experienced and dedicated teachers.

International student applicants must be attending at least Grade 7 (Secondary 1 in Québec).

TFI : TEST DE FRANÇAIS INTERNATIONAL
Every student who attends the French immersion school has the opportunity to take the TFI test.
Supervised by ETS, which is the largest private educational testing and measurement organization, the Test de français international (TFI) evaluates the candidate’s ability to understand, speak, read and write in French.

Placing the students in their appropriate language level, the TFI test is internationally renowned and used by colleges and universities as well as employers in order to determine the real candidate’s proficiency.

Accredited by ETS, the Collège de Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière offers all its non-francophone students the possibility to take the TFI test on the spot at the end of their program.

BUSINESS FRENCH
Our Business French program is intended for people who wish to learn the basic knowledge of French communication or improve their French language proficiency in their business relationship framework.

Tailored to your needs , this program is offered in different levels –from beginner to high advanced– and focuses on the specific vocabulary and expressions commonly used in the business world.

OUR FIVE-WEEK FRENCH IMMERSION PROGRAM

Campus Saint-Jean is the University of Alberta’s French-speaking campus. Our program is held during the summer in La Pocatière, Québec, a quiet, rural, agricultural centre located along the St. Lawrence River, a totally French-speaking milieu.

Overview of the program
The schedule of classroom sessions, workshops, organized cultural and sporting activities maximizes the students’ exposure to the French language and culture to ensure an ideal learning experience. You will be charmed by the region's scenery and its most beautiful sunsets. Our program attracts sports enthusiasts as well as budding musicians. On the first day of the program, students will be assessed to ensure proper class placement. Qualified, experienced and friendly instructors work with students to achieve the proficiency expected at each level, from beginner to advanced.

Levels
Our Program offers 8 levels: three beginner, three intermediate and two advanced levels (see course descriptions). Some levels may not be offered due to insufficient number of students. Placement tests are given on the first day of school and you are grouped by level into classes of approximately 20 people.

Eligibility (16-17 years old)
Canadian or international student applicants must be attending at least Grade 11 (Secondary 5 in Québec) or a postsecondary level during the current school year.

SCHOOL YEAR PREPARATION – THREE WEEKS
The regular school year’s three-week preparation program is the continuation of the five-week summer program and is considered as a prerequisite for the regular school year. The schedule of classroom sessions, workshops, organized cultural and sporting activities maximizes the students’ exposure to the French language and culture to ensure an ideal learning experience.

FRENCH TEACHER PROGRAM (ONE WEEK INTENSIVE)
Our French Teacher program is intended for primary or secondary school teachers who wish to enhance their knowledge of the French language and improve their language proficiency.

Tailored to your needs as for duration and specific needs, this program focuses on French grammar and syntax, the understanding and correct use of vocabulary and French expressions, and oral expression.

The content presented below could vary depending on your specific needs.
