The English for General Purposes Course prepares students for conversation, everyday situations and daily interactions that take place when travelling or living in an English speaking country. Students learn more than just grammar. They practice listening, reading, writing and speaking skills every week in an interactive environment where they are encouraged to speak English at all times and to ask questions.

The focus of an EAP course is developing the skills areas in English that the student will require when studying alongside native speakers in main stream course areas. However, students entering the EAP course at the lower level will not necessarily have access to the language base that makes the use of these skills a possibility. For this reason, the balance of the EAP course will move systematically from a language focus to a skills focus as the student progresses through the levels from EAP1 to EAP 2.
