OUR SCHOOL
Alhambra Instituto was founded in 1980 and can be found only 100 meters away from the beach and it solely takes 15 minutes by bus to the city centre. Our school has 10 air-conditioned classrooms and a fully equipped dance room for salsa & flamenco. In addition we have free internet and WIFI access. Alhambra Insituto is fully insured for 3rd party liability. We are a non-smoking school, but we have a comfortable smoking area outside.
Alhambra Instituto gives you all the cultural knowledge and Spanish language skills you need for being successful in today’s world. We have been teaching students from all over the world for over 30 years. In addition we have also been cooperating with employees from international companies like Bayer, AEG, Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation, Audi, Volkswagen, Deutsche Bank, Hoechst, SAS, Siemens, Swissair and Bayer.
We are a caring school where learning Spanish should be fun and our qualified teachers help you to achieve your goals in the most efficient way. Furthermore, we organize a number of social activities every day as well as courses for dancing and cooking.
ACCOMMODATION
We can offer two different kinds of accommodations to our students: Host families and apartments. We choose our home stay families with great care with the help of interviews and home-visits. Many of those families passing the tests have great experience with international students and already created long lasting friendships. The fee for host families includes half board (2 meals/day) or full board (3 meals/day).
In case you decide to stay in one of our Shared Apartments, you can choose between a single or a twin bedroom, and share the lounge, bathroom and kitchen with 4-5 other students from our school. There is also the possibility of sharing and individual studio apartment with a friend, or stay live alone, if you are a person that prefers complete independence.

July and August, the wonderful summer months, are coming up! That is why Alhambra Instituto offers you a summer course especially made for the young adults (16-24). Improve your Spanish in the morning and enjoy the Spanish life in the afternoon. This course includes 15 hours of Spanish classes per week (3 hours per day). You will learn Spanish in a relaxed and friendly environment but in a professional way. Students practice grammar, pronunciation, listening, writing and reading skills. Your vocabulary will extend daily! And all of this with the new friends you made from all over the world!
We recommend that young students stay in in typical Spanish host family. The students are accommodated in single rooms (full-board) with the host family. The Spanish families are familiar for their sense of humour, hospitality and enjoying life! Our students feel comfortable right away and their host families and besides that it is the best way to immerse you in the Spanish life and culture!

Rapide storytelling du manque d’humanisme de cette école.
Moi et ma compagne partons en 2020 pour 10 semaines de cours avec logement en famille d’accueil pour un prix d’environ 3000€/personnes. Deux semaine après notre arrivée la pandémie a englouti l’Europe impossible pour nous de rentrer en France. Nous demandons un remboursement des jours restant a l’école ils REFUSENT, ils nous proposent un avoir et nous n’avons pas le choix que d’accepter. Nous restons en Espagne en confinement et faisant des cours en ligne(service mis en place par l’école). Au bout des quelques semaines nous parvenons à rentrer en France. Nous avons toujours un avoir dans l’école (cours et logement valable jusqu’en 2021). Depuis nous n’avons pu voyager et je rentre en contact avec l’école pour prolonger notre avoir d’un an supplémentaire car la situation est assez difficile pour voyager, ils REFUSENT. Après réflexion je leur demande de faire au moins les cours en ligne histoire de ne pas tout perdre (Cours et logement) ils REFUSENT aussi.
Résultat aujourd’hui je vous déconseille cette école car ils m’ont bien fait comprendre que l’argent était plus important que la satisfaction client.
J’ai pris de mon temps pour écrire ce message pour vous informer.

This is the worst experience ever. It is a scam and they are not taking it seriously. Everybody was complaining and they did nothing a bout it. total chaos, no organization, no real books, you can't get a refund for the upcoming weeks. MY ADVICE IS TO STAY AWAY OR AT LEAST TRY IT FOR A WEEK ONLY. There are many good institutions around but NOT this one.

J'ai passé à l'école deux semaines en juillet cette année, l'histoire d'améliorer mon espagnol, et au final j'ai regretté que j'avais pas la pris au moins trois semaines! Le cours est tellement intensif et efficace, que déjà le deuxième jour je me sentais plus à l'aise pour parler espagnol!
Les profs sont très professionnels et ils font tout pour te faire avancer. En deux semaines à Malaga j'ai appris plus que j'avais appris en 9 mois à Paris.
Ça s'est passé super vite, j'ai que des bons souvenirs, j'ai des nouveaux amis de pays différents et j'ai le bon résultat - je parle et je comprends suffisamment bien espagnol (alors que je suis venue là bas avec le niveau A1...). Je vous conseille sincèrement cette école, vous aurez sûrement le bon résultat et vous passerez des bons moments!

Minha experiência no curso foi a melhor possivel!!! Aqui a gente aprende de verdade pois os professores são muito gabaritados para darem as aulas!!! As aulas são dinâmicas e muito bem administradas!!! Todos os professores são excelentes e todas as dúvidas que temos são tiradas da melhor forma possível!!! É um curso tão bom que eu voltarei com toda a certeza!!! Alhambra Instituto se importa muito com o aluno além das aulas o que mais me impressionou foram os passeios muito bem planejados!!! Localidade excepcional e uma incrível pontualidade nos horários das aulas!!! Agradeço por tudo e já já estaremos juntos novamente!!!

I only spent 1 week at the Alhambra Instituto in Jan 2015 but hope/plan to return for a longer stay. I've been to another language school elsewhere in Spain and the Alhambra Instituto was much , much better -- in a different league!
What I particularly appreciated was the careful explanation from the teachers whenever something wasn't clear; and the emphasis on speaking Spanish.
Being there for only 5 days, and in Winter, meant that I wasn't able to take part in many extracurricular activities which is why I haven't marked this highly but the programme of activities for those staying longer looked good!

I was in this school for 4 weeks and I’ve had an amazing time here. It already started being awesome since the first day I got there in Alhambra Instituto. The teacher I first had is called Fran. He was very nice and good at explaining everything. He doesn’t speak too fast and he says the words very clear. That way we could easily understand everything. And if there is a new word we didn’t learned yet he tried his best explaining the meaning of that word. Also the way he teachs is very good. He keeps it alive, funny. We didn’t always have the same teacher. Sometimes, for example, we also got a teacher called Andrés. Andrés is also an amazing teacher. Mostly when we went away on excursions to museas or other places Andrés was the person who lead them. He could do that very good. He told everything about what there is in the musea or place we went to. About what there is to see in the Cathedral. The history of a certain thing, he knew everything. Also in class he was a great teacher. He teached us many different past times and explained exactly when you should be using this times. The classes were not that big. Every week it is different how many people are in your class. Sometimes you sit with 4 other students. Other times with 2 or 3.The other students were always very kind. Malaga is also a very nice place to learn Spanish. I would have given this school 100000 stars if it was possible. Too bad I only can give 5.

Estuve en Alhambra Instituto Internacional el verano pasado y me gustó mucho! Los profesores explican muy bien, muy claro, siempre cuando hay cualquier duda o pregunta, están dispuestos para ayudar y están interesados en mejorar el nivel de cada uno! La escuela ofrece una amplia variedad de las actividades, así que no te aburras en Málaga! Disfruté de las actividades y de la compañía de mis nuevos amigos, la escuela recibe los estudiantes de todo el mundo, por eso hay una buena oportunidad de cambiarse de las culturas o pasar tiempo con los profes en paella party o en Safari tapas es súper guay! Así combinas tus estudios con la práctica de la idioma!
Las chicas en la recepción, muchas gracias por ser tan amables y por su ayuda en cuanto tuve los problemas! Dominika es súper buena y hace todo para su clientes! Quería agradecer a todo el equipo de Alhambra, los cursos me sirvieron útiles en acabar mi carrera con notas excelentes! Os echo de menos muchísimo! Saludos de Moscú ;)

Together with my daughter I studied Spanish at Alhambra Instituto for four weeks. I have had an incredible time. The teachers are wonderful, I felt at home immediately. I have learned a lot of Spanish. The school is very well located and Málaga is a wonderful city. We will soon return because we miss the school and the city very much!
