Our school is in the heart of the charming ciry of Siracusa and we are proud to be able to offer a unique range of courses: General Italian, history and exciting eco-tours, cooking and wine tasting. Due to our 30 years of experience, our team of teachers if highly qualified and experienced.

Our Courses
We offer General Italian courses all year round which are structured with the guidelines of the Common European Framework. Students of all levels (A1 to C2) are welcome to experience our unique range of focused Italian+ courses: “History”, “Myths and Culture”, “The Sicilian Adventure” and “Food and Wine”. Long term options are available, including academic electives in history, Italian literature, archaeology and history of art.
Our teaching method
Our classes are based on the communicative approach and are focused on developing the 4 mayor language skills. We place emphasis on interactive communication, but also analyse each of our student’s needs and develop the lessons accordingly.

Teachers and staff at the Institute are very caring, competent, and make themselves available for any help you might need. Even though I was only there for a week, they felt like friends by then end. Those who stay on all summer must end up as family!
Classes gave the right balance of student-led curiosity and teacher-led structure. The balance of class time and excursions made for a lovely holiday, all at very good value.
I stayed in the school's rental accommodation and highly recommend it. It was well appointed, competitively priced, I felt safe, comfortable, it had personal touches, and best of all - powerful AC!

Bonjour, je ne peux pas évaluer les activités vu que je n'ai participé à aucune d'elles, sauf un apéritif avec les autres étudiants. Comme il n'est pas possible d'envoyer la critique générale sans "cocher" les activités, j'ai mis le maximum, sachant que mes co-étudiantes en étaient très satisfaites.
Etant moi-même formatrice de Français Langue Etrangère, je peux dire combien j'ai apprécié le professionnalisme de tout le personnel de l'école, surtout de la formatrice de notre petit groupe qui a su jonglé chaque semaine avec le différent nombre d'étudiants et de nationalités.

I had a great week at the Academy. The instructors were wonderful, admin staff incredibly helpful and my apartment - bellissimo! I loved the classes that were catered to our abilities and the ratio of instructor to students. I worked hard but loved every minute of it! I hope to get back next year for another week.

One of their best features is their flexibility and how they are able to adapt to your schedule and needs. Next week I start my second course with them. You can pick any week long sessions and they adapt the courses to the level and number of students. Very serious yet comfortable atmosphere.

The Italian Academy offers excellent Italian language classes. I studied there for two weeks and our teacher was very professional and kept us focussed. She also provided a lot of interesting background into the Sicilian culture. The school administration was well organised, very helpful and friendly. It was a great experience all round.

Purtroppo, ero troppo stanca et disturba per godere il seggiorno e per parlare meglio, Non era il momento giusto per me di parlare con la persona che mi ha affitato la stanza e non posso dire che ho bagnato nella lingua italiana fuori dall'academia. Avrei amato ascoltare la radio, per exempio.

Mein Aufenthalt in Siracusa wird unvergesslich bleiben. Ich habe 5 Wochen in Siracusa und gleichzeitig an der Sprachschule verbracht. Die Sprachschule ist sehr gut organisiert und kümmert sich ständig um die Studenten. Am Anfang habe ich Lektionen in der Klasse gebucht, habe jedoch mit der Zeit gemerkt, dass Einzellektionen für mich besser geeignet sind. Ich habe dies gemolden und für den nächsten Tag wurden mir Einzellektionen angeboten. Es war überhaupt kein Problem den Kurs zu wechseln. Ich konnte von den Einzellektionen so viel profitieren und befürchte, dass ich nicht mehr so schnell so eine kompetente Lehrerin finde werde. Sie wusste immer genau, wo mein Problem liegt und hat mir italienisch sehr spielerisch beigebracht. Ich habe mich nie gelangweilt und micht immer wieder erneut auf die Lektionen gefreut.
Die Freizeitaktivitäten der Schule sind auch sehr gut organisiert. Wir haben sehr interessante Sachen unternommen (Naturreservate, Weindegustationen, Modica, Ragusa Ibla, Besuch eines Olivenölbauern, Degustation typischer Produkte, Kochlektionen etc.).
Ich wollte nicht bei einer Gastfamilie unterkommen und habe somit angefragt, ob es möglich ist in einer Studenten-WG zu wohnen. Die Schule hat dies für mich organisiert. Für mich war es ein optimales Erlebnis, weil ich dadurch viele italienischsprechende Studenten kennengelernt habe und so in den Alltag integriert wurde. Vorteilhaft ist es, in Ortigia - der Altstadt von Siracusa - zu wohnen (es ist dort schöner als in Siracusa, das Meer ist nahe und viele schöne Gassen).
Ich vermisse Sizilien sehr, die Schule, meine persönliche Lehrerin, Arianna, Francesco, meine Studenten-WG, die lockere Stimmung, die Nähe zum Meer, die vielen schönen Gassen in Ortigia, die sehr interssanten Ausflüge mit der Schule, die italienische Sprache, das sehr gute Essen und vieles mehr. Wenn es möglich ist, werde ich wieder einen Sprachkurs an der Schule buchen und wieder mit Studenten zusammenleben.

I really enjoyed my time studying Italian at the school in Syracuse. Outside of the lessons there were many other activities planned which were also a great opportunity to bond with other students. I liked the fact that the excursions were not with a seperate company and that you were with other staff and students from the school as everything was taken care of for you. The school itself is in a central location. The accommodation was fantastic and any issues were resolved quickly. Everyone at the school is so helpful and always available for questions or advice. Syracuse is a perfect base to explore Sicilia from and I would definitely recommend the school was a means to study and stay in Sicilia for anyone travelling alone. I made some great friends and thoroughly enjoyed my trip!
