Great experience at the Italian Academy

In addition to the courses (awesome teachers by the way, for all levels), I strongly recommend the excursions to discover more about the area and the Sicilian culture. Great team + great people + great place = great time guaranteed ;-)

A true Sicilian Adventure

Thanks all for the wonderful time I spent in Sicily. It was a perfect mix of socializing, learning Italian and discovering beautiful places on this island. Special thanks to Francesco and Arianna for their friendly support :-) I would definitely recommend this school to everyone who is looking forward to spending summer wisely. Bacio!

Enjoyed our course in Siracusa

Thanks to all the staff for being so helpful and friendly during our time. We learned a lot from our teachers (Luisa and Guise). The organisation of accommodation was fantastic and all the staff were so quick to help with any queries, problems etc. Big thank you especially to Francesco and Arianna.

One area of improvement would be to make sure students are tested before beginning the course. One of us ended up in a class that was far too easy before requesting to move. There was also a big range of ability in the beginner class so it wasn't always possible to be challenged.

Thanks again to everyone.

A fun and productive week!

I was really impressed by the Italian Academy. The personal touch really made a difference and I felt looked after all week. Its staff are lovely - very friendly and accommodating. Giusi was an excellent teacher - the perfect combination of strict and good-humoured! She took every opportunity to help us learn and improve our Italian.

I feel like I've learned an enormous amount in just five days. We also learnt a lot of Italian during the afternoon trips.
Thanks a million!

Loving ITalian academy!

I found the quality of the teachers to be excellent. Especially Luisa who was very patient and logical in her approach. We all made very good progress and I was extremely happy with her (our main teacher).
It would have been good to have some more listening practice but I found the content to be very well taught and the right level for me.
Everyone in the school office was very friendly, Sean was wonderful, helping me with parking and directions and a lot of other helpful tips. We were all really well looked after. Francesco especially was great. I have had brilliant time and the academy and would recommend it to anyone wishing to learn Italian!

Una Esperienza Meravigliosa

Speaking as a teacher on leave/ artist. I acquired an interest in learning Italian after painting in Tuscany and Cinque Terre in September, 2014. As a plein air painter, more paintings from Italy were required for an upcoming Art Exhibition. Sicily became my destination. I was happy with the ancient town of Siracusa, highlighted by Ortegia.
My experience with the Academy was very positive. The correspondence and relations with the administration was warm and friendly. They were willing to help with any issue. They arranged host accommodation for 3 1/2 weeks. I was extremely grateful to my hosts in taking my in and sharing their language and culture with me. They have become good friends.
The school was clean and well organized. Besides Italian teachers there were several English teachers from the U.K.
I pursued a 3 week intensive one on one beginner's level course. I was very glad to go this route because of the individual attention given. I had progressed a few levels by the end of instruction. Fortunately I had 2 teachers of unique but complementary styles that maximized my learning over 20 hours/week lessons. Both were university trained, energetic and highly passionate, conscientious.
After acquiring some grammatical structure and understanding and an ability to communicate I returned to Canada with a sense of accomplishment and a greater appreciation for Sicilian Culture and a desire to continue learning.
Grazie!
Peter

A fun and productive week of Italian classes!

At the end of our week learning at The Italian Academy, we thought we should drop a line and say how much we have enjoyed ourselves and more importantly learned this week!
We have gained a huge amount from working with both our teachers and we wanted to give you some feedback. We've been lucky to have contrasting teachers this week and their skills both complimented each other and added interest to our day. Both teachers have been enthusiastic and lots of fun. They have been incredibly reponsive to our needs and varying skills, and have gone out of their way to prepare work in addition to the pack provided, either because we asked to cover certain aspects of grammar or because of certain interests we had expressed at the beginning of the week.
For example, for today Josie had prepared fantastic worksheets and activities focusing on and encompassing all of the elements we had covered with her. She has fabulously clear and structured way of teaching and we would like to thank her in particular, for all her patience! Today's session, especially, was a perfect session for us and a great way to end.
Another example of the hard work they have both put in this week, is the extent to which Klaudia went to make the lessons fun and lively all week. She included different texts and stories and even videos and songs and managed to put many things in a real context somehow. We also benefitted without doubt from her enthusiasm and energy!
Both our knowledge and confidence has increased enormously. It is such a shame to be only doing one week!
