STANDARD COURSE
The main emphasis is placed on improving your communication skills. Lessons in grammar and conversation help you to enhance vocabulary and improve your syntax. You will practice formal and informal writing and work on your listening and reading comprehension.

LESSONS: 25 lessons per week: German course (20) + cultural/special interest programme (5). 1 lesson = 45 minutes.
STARTING DATES: every Monday, absolute beginners approx. once a month.
GROUP SIZE: average 8, maximum 12.
LEVEL: all levels all year round.
DURATION: 1-11 weeks.

INTENSIVE COURSE
You will study general German for four lessons daily (Standard Course) plus two additional lessons a day in small groups, in which your teacher specifically focuses on your individual needs and weak points. This course is ideal for anybody wanting to make rapid progress in a short time.
LESSONS: 35 lessons per week: German course (20) + minigroup (10) + cultural/special interest programme (5).
STARTING DATES: every Monday, absolute beginners approx. once a month.
GROUP SIZE: Standard Course: 8-12, minigroup: average 5-8.

SUPER- INTENSIVE COURSE
Combination of group tuition (Standard Course) and individual tuition. Individual tuition caters to special learning needs and takes your vocational interests into account.

ActiLingua is an examination centre for the Austrian German Diploma (Österreichisches Sprachdiplom, OSD).
OSD certificate levels correspond to the Common European Framework of Reference.

In addition to the selected course, you take 8 group lessons or 4 individual lessons as exam preparation.
Taking our Certificate Preparation Course prepares you for internationally recognized exams which you can take directly at the end of the course.

Information on OSD-exams: 2 weeks before start of our Preparation Course, we organize a free lecture and present available exams, their levels and their advantages and help you choose the best suitable exam for your needs and ambitions.

GERMAN COURSE - Standard or Intensive

A preparatory German course with a duration of 12 to 52 weeks
is an excellent foundation for meeting the challenges of university
studies. Your German course consists of 4 lessons (Standard) or 6
lessons (Intensive) daily in small international study groups following a
recognized curriculum. You profit from an attractive long-term discount
of up to 18 %. (This discount is already considered in our price list).

UNIVERSITY PREPARATION
A certificate preparation course disposes you for taking a university entrance exam.
ActiLingua is an examination centre for Austrian German Language Certificates (OSD).
OSD Zertifikat B2 or C1 will be recognized by most Austrian and some
German universities as sufficient language entrance requirements.
Our university advisor will inform you in two tutorials about the Austrian system of higher education and assist you in choosing the right university and study programme.

UNIVERSITY ENROLMENT GUIDANCE
In addition to University Preparation you can also optionally book our Enrolment Guidance. Before you come to Austria and start your German course at ActiLingua Academy, we will check, if your internationally acquired diplomas could qualify for admission at an Austrian university. We will advice you regarding registration at a public/private university, a university of applied sciences or a University Preparation Programme. You can also choose a university with English study programmes in Austria.


Requirements for studying at an Austrian university:
There are certain restrictions to university admission, especially in popular studies (i.e. medicine-related studies, Biology, Pharmacy, Psychology, Business Studies and others) at some universities.

For EU, EEA or Swiss nationals and others:
• High school diploma (translated and authenticated). It’s up to
the individual universities if additional exams are required.
• Proof of sufficientknowledge of German

Citizens of other nations need in addition to that
• proof of a university place in your homeland:
- in the same field of studies as you would like to study in Austria and
- for the period of time you want to study in Austria.

Most universities offer 3- or 5-year degree programmes. After completing a 3-year programme you graduate with a Bachelor's degree and after a 5-year programme you graduate with a Master's degree.

Holiday Course for teenagers 16-19 years
The Holiday Course 16-19 years is perfect for teenagers who want to spend their summer with their peers: learning German, exploring Vienna and enjoying the city’s vibrant atmosphere with new, international friends. Holiday Course students are independent and treated like young adults. There is no supervision in the evenings.

Summer School for young people 12-17 years
This prestigious private school, founded by Empress Maria Theresia, provides optimum learning and recreation facilities required for the ActiLingua juniors programme. The school is located in central Vienna, with many famous sights in walking distance or within easy reach by public transport.
The school is spaciously laid out. In the middle of the campus a large park facilitates leisure and sports with a football pitch, sports and beach volleyball grounds and tennis courts, available for use after lessons.

ACCOMMODATION
Summer School Residence Standard
The Summer School not only comprises classrooms, common rooms and the restaurant but also an extensive accommodation wing. With boys and girls separated, students are accommodated in spacious, friendly and comfortable 4-6 bed rooms (shower/toilet on each floor) directly on the school grounds.

Summer School Residence Superior
Rooms, which offer a higher standard of accommodation, are available directly on the Summer School campus. This newly renovated wing is friendly and well furnished. All superior rooms are shared by 3 to 4 students and have their own shower. Toilet on each floor.

MEALS
All students are accommodated full-board (three meals per day).

At the Summer School our staff is available round the clock! Independent outings from the premises require written permission by the student’s legal guardians.
