Central Pacific College's mission is to provide students with the highest standard of quality in ESL (English as a Second Language) education through its EPP program (English Proficiency Program) as well as opportunities to develop the language and cultural competence necessary to function comfortably within a multicultural environment.

The English Proficiency Program (EPP), CPC's largest and most popular program, is for full time students who have an F-1 student visa and who study for twenty hours per week. It is comprised of six different levels (i.e., Beginner through Advanced) and focuses on improving students' communicative fluency in order to become confident English speakers. As such, EPP courses focus on grammar, reading, writing, listening and speaking while emphasizing the importance of practical English use.
It takes twenty-four weeks to complete each level. The total time it takes to complete the EPP program is 2,880 hours.

The TOEFL program is for students who have either completed the Low Advanced level or have placed higher than Low Advanced on the placement exam. The TOEFL program is open to all part-time (i.e., sixteen hours) and full-time students (i.e., twenty hours). This program prepares students to take the TOEFL exam through comprehensive review and practice of the skills that are commonly tested on the exam. The total number of hours it takes to complete the TOEFL program is 480 hours.
The TOEIC program is for students who have either completed the Intermediate level or have placed higher than Intermediate on the placement exam. The TOEIC program is open to all part-time (i.e., sixteen hours) and full-time students (i.e., twenty hours). This program prepares students to take the TOEIC exam through comprehensive review and practice of the skills that are commonly tested on the exam. The total number of hours it takes to complete the TOEIC program is 480 hours.

Want to transfer directly from CPC to University of Hawaii-Kapiolani Community College without taking the TOEIC or TOEFL? Here's how!
- Successfully complete Low Intermediate level (both A and B terms)
- Receive an exit score of 51 or higher
- Transfer to KCC and enter ESOL 94
If you want to enroll in ESL 100, you must take the KCC COMPASS ESL test

The English Conversation Program (ECP) is for students who do not have an F-1 student visa and who study for sixteen hours per week. Similar in structure to the EPP program, it is comprised of six different levels (i.e., Beginner through Advanced) and focuses on improving students' communicative fluency in order to become confident English speakers. The amount of time it takes to complete the programs depends on the student's enrollment.

Club Keiki is a seasonal children's program that is available in the spring (for one week) and in the summer (for a maximum of six weeks). Students are engaged in cultural activities for four hours in the morning and three hours of English classes in the afternoon with a half hour break for lunch in between. The total number of hours it takes to complete the Club Keiki program in the spring is 35 hours and 210 hours in the summer.

It is my favorite school in all of Hawaii. They have many courses for all levels and learners. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the instructors are really professional and kind! The school is in a great location and is very comfortable. Also, they help you with any problems or questions you have. It is a very good school. Mahalo CPC!
