To achieve the best results possible, we focus on a communicative approach with lessons 100% in Spanish.
We are also very proud to offer a true insight into the wealthy culture of Spain.
To achieve the highest standards of editorial content, we have developed our own teaching materials. Your learning experience is in safe hands, because our in-house team works on the materials that we offer with the use of the latest technology and the use of personalised programmes. By doing that we follow the official references guides of the Common European Framework for languages.
You have the option, before choosing a course, to take an online initial assessment to make sure that we determine your perfect starting point. You can either send it with your enrolment form or do it here during your first day at La Playa.
Despite your learning experience, it is also very important to us to make you feel at home with us so you can take away the most from your stay with us. Please contact us, if there are ways we can achieve that goal together.
The school is located in la Cala del Moral, which is a lively coastal town close to Malaga. La Cala is a gateway to the East Costa del Sol, with its mountains, white villages, natural parks and beaches within easy reach.
La Playa is an oasis on the beach, which is surrounded by a lush garden with Mediterranean trees in addition to a swimming-pool. La Playa gives you the chance to enjoy your lessons both outdoors and indoors.
Upon arriving you will be welcomed at our reception desk. Here you can, apart from completing your enrolment, relax a little bit and get help finding your accommodation or the best places to eat or hang out around La Playa.
The school contains of four full-equipped classromms and wi-fi all over the property, so you can show off your new language skills to your friends and family.
The building is very accessible by wheelchair and any sight or hearing impairment is taken care of by our personalised teaching methods. Please let us know, if you have any special requirement. We are happy to help!
Our vision for the future is not simply a long-term commitment with the satisfaction of you, our learners, but also with the environment as well. With more than 300 days of sunshine per year in our area, we are planning to go off-grid as soon as possible. That's the sun creating electricity for us, and in return we do not cause carbon emissions. Great!
Our creative team of La Playa School is put together by post-graduate qualified teachers and linguists collaborating and working with recognized and prestigious publishers specialized in Spanish as a foreign language and also involved in other professional areas in Spain and the UK.
During the lessons we are using standard Spanish pronunciation. The teachers’ accent however is representative of several Spanish regions. That way, learners are able to gain an insight into the diverse linguistic of peninsular Spanish.

My husband and I needed to improve our Spanish so we enrolled in a two-week course (levels B1 and B2) at La Playa. we were very happy with the teachers (Pedro was great, attentive, funny, very knowledgeable about the Spanish culture, from food to literature and history of Andalusia. The school itself is well located in a lovely small town (La Cala del Moral) on the beach. We learned a lot, and our teachers adapted the class to students' needs so we never felt bored but, rather, always stimulated. The schedule is perfect, 4-hour days with a little break in between and we had the opportunity to meet students of all ages from different countries. I highly recommend this school and will definitely come back. The price is very reasonable.

La scuola offre una serie di attività molto divertenti per i studenti, per non parlare poi dei corsi di lingua, le quali sono stati molto interessanti e per niente noiosi! Celia è una insegnante molto simpatica e lo stesso vale per Miguel! Teneteli stretti perché per me sono stati i migliori insegnanti che abbia mai incontrato!

La scuola era molto bella e ogni giorno ci sono state nuove attività, non ci si annoiava mai. Gli insegnanti sono sempre stati gentili e coinvolgenti. Tra di loro Miguel è il migliore, avrà sempre un posto nel mio cuore.

I had such a nice stay at the language school, that I would recommend everybody going there. I really liked that the teachers were really flexible, so they really taught us things in which we were interested. For example, the few other people in my course and me wanted to know more about Spanish traditions on bank holidays, so that's what we talked about with the teacher. I am really glad that the teacher motivated us to speak, so it wasn't him talking all the time but really us who practised.
I think, I don't have to talk about the location which is just perfect, directly in front of the beach in a nice village. Thank you also for the nice trips we made after the courses and specially for helping me so much to improve my Spanish!

Fantasztikus hetet töltöttem a nyelviskolában baráti, családias hangulatban. Kellemes emlékekkel tértem haza. A tanárok professzionálisak, személyre szabottan oktatják a nyelvet, beszédcentrikusan, a nyelvtanra alapozva. A déletőtti tanórákon kívül délutánra is szerveztek programokat, a nyelvtanulás elősegítésére. Az iskola a tengerparti sétányon található, gyönyörű környezetben. Örültem, hogy a tanórákat a szabadban, az uszoda mellett tartottuk, így nyaralásnak tűnt a tanulás.

Tengo un buen recuerdo de La playa. Los profesores y los alumnos son como una familia. Os echo mucho de menos a Román y Mila. Está justo en el frente de la playa y está muy cerca del centro. Me gusta mucho tener la clase mientras tomando el sol, jajaja.También me encanta el bonito jardín y la piscina.

The only feeling I feel here is amazing, because I made a great progress by these courses of spanish. No matter the staffs or the teachers, all of them are so kind and warm hearted, so far as I know, la playa is the best language school in "Costa del Sol", venga!

Really great school! I can recommend it to everyone... The location is perfect, the school is located right on the beach, you can be in centre of Malaga within 20 minutes using public transport. The sea, beach and views are incredible, don´t forget to take your camera. The classes are very interesting and different each time to make sure you remember what you learn. The teachers are very helpful, you can always ask for advise and be sure that your problem is solved. Definately one of the best schools in Málaga! :)
