Our Curriculum 2 IN 1
2 IN 1 that’s our curriculum to teach you Conversational Chinese/HSK. With this curriculum we provide 2 results in 1 course. You will learn daily life Conversational Chinese and, for those who are interested, have the opportunity to pass HSK exam at the same time. No additional Exam preparation is needed which saves you both money and time.

Intensive 30 and Intensive 20 courses
The Intensive 30 Course is with 30 classes per week our most immersive Course. It focuses on acquiring the highest level of Conversational or Business Chinese, at the same time preparing the student to pass the Chinese HSK exam.
Compared to the Intensive 20 Course the Intensive 30 Course allows for two additional afternoon classes per day in which what has been learned in the morning is being practiced in an effective yet fun way in the afternoon. Apart from that, the Intensive 30 course includes a Friday afternoon out of class Activity: we take the students outside where they can practice their Mandarin in the real world. Class size is small with a maximum of 8 students.
The Intensive Courses are best suited for those who:
• want to acquire a deep knowledge of Mandarin in all its aspects listening, speaking, reading and writing;
• want to learn Mandarin fast and to the fullest;
• prefer to review and practice in the classroom rather than only at home.
Express 30 Course
The increasing importance of HSK has been the reason to design our Express Course. It is undoubtedly the fastest way to pass your HSK exams with good results. In this course we stretch the student’s language skills to the fullest. The class size is with 4 students small.
The Express course is best suited for those who:
• want to sign up for University or apply for a job and now need to pass HSK 4 or 5 as fast as possible;
• quickly need to acquire extra ‘HSK-points’ to get their VISA under the latest VISA rules;
• want to challenge themselves and see how fast they can master Mandarin.

Our Curriculum 2 PLUS 1
2 PLUS 1 that’s our curriculum to teach you Business Chinese/BCT. As a basis for our Business Chinese teaching we use our Conversational/HSK teaching 2 IN 1. On top of that, we add vocabulary, structures and phrases on Business Chinese topics, so indeed 2 PLUS 1.

studied General ChineseProbably the best way to learn Chinese for busy full-time employeesI joined Silk Mandarin school at the end of December, 2017, so basically, I started the new year with learning Chinese. Before I joined I had checked some other options available in Shanghai, but was totally charmed by teachers and other staff in this school, so agreed to join immediately and never regretted. My way of learning foreign languages (English is not native language and my second foreign language was Finnish, haha) is through asking a huge number of various questions about grammar, vocabulary and other things, and here I can get absolutely all the answers to all my questions. I find their style, approach in teaching Chinese very professional and high competent, I’m absolutely sure, that this school can help you find the most suitable way to study Chinese. Prices are various and in my opinion are absolutely affordable for all kinds of students. I’d highly recommend everyone to apply for courses in this school and you definitely will find not only teachers and classmates, but rather really great people and, who knows, maybe even friends :)

Upon entering the school the motto says " More Than Just Talking!"which made me think most Chinese schools would say this plus initially I found them on a map app. Honestly, the space is quaint, comfortable and staff are very personable. Final decision to join came after taking a level assessment and them expertly finding my level to help push and support me. Still figuring out what "More than just talking!" means but most definitely feel a better connection using the language with their patient and earnest effort for my development. Highly recommend to join, my suggestion is to let them know your personality and best way to learn then they can correctly accommodate your speed of learning and be brave. Its a safe environment.

Over the last few years I have tried over 5 different Mandarin schools and found that Silk Mandarin is by far the best. What I find intresting about Silk Mandarin is that they seek to constantly improve their teaching methodology, something very different from any other Mandarin school I have encountered so far. The teachers and the management are all extremely involved and passionate about teaching Chinese: it really is something special. After two years of Silk Mandarin part time studies and no prior experience of studying Mandarin, I am now about to start with HSK5 classes. I would not have expected to improve my Mandarin this quick. This school is really something special and I have (successfully) recommended it to many friends in Shanghai who are now also fixed customers.
