ELC’s Cambridge Exam Preparation courses will enable you to make progress in your all-round English ability while developing skills and techniques for exam success.
ELC is an approved Cambridge ESOL Computer-Based Test centre so you will get take your final test at the school so you will be in familiar, comfortable surroundings. There are many advantages to the computer-based testing system and you will receive extensive training. The speaking test is still face-to-face and the examiners come to the school to test you.
This preparation course is a closed one which means all students start and finish their course at the same time as well as take the test on the same day. Because of this, our students have a high level of motivation and focus and this also means our students work together as a team. To help achieve this we also organise Cambridge-only social events to give you a chance to bond with your class as well as your teacher.

Program Details
This course is the best preparation for students wishing to study in English at an Australian university or business college. Whether you want to gain entry to your course via one of ELC’s direct entry agreements or by taking the IELTS examination, this program will get you into the course and ensure you are ready to enjoy it.

Course book: The Academic English program uses a Cambridge University academic English course book which focuses on improving language skills while thoroughly preparing students for the challenges of academic study. You will regularly listen to lectures on academic topics.
EAP and IELTS Preparation
All of our academic English students are planning to study at universities or other higher education colleges in Australia or elsewhere. Some may need to show an IELTS score to gain entry to their chosen course, others may be on one of ELC’s pathway programs and not require an IELTS score. Our Academic English course is tailored to meet the needs of students in both situations.

To help both EAP and IELTS students you will have weekly individual sessions with the Academic English coordinators who will create and manage your personal study plan, tailor the course to your needs, and give you feedback on your progress towards your IELTS or EAP goals or advice on your future studies. Students working towards EAP and direct entry can get extra personal assistance with their essay writing and research skills, while students preparing for the IELTS test can also use these tutorials to practice their speaking test interviews.

My feeling about ELC

Hi guys,
The establishment is compliant for the students who study, the teachers are pretty friendly, motivating and they have all the time the smile. For the activities, they recommended every day something and the weekend as well. They follow you for what do you want, you can have an appointment and talking about what do you and for your process. You have at layout, a kitchen, water and a big living room. ELC is close to everything and in front of the Town Hall station also.

The Best Place Ever

If I knew earlier I would have enrolled earlier! This is the best place so far in Sydney to learn English compares to the others institution (Hard Cold Facts!). Thanks for the short 4 weeks! Won't forget y'all.
