About Winchester School of English
The Winchester School of English was founded in 1989 and is a small and friendly school where students learn in a relaxed environment. ATC Language Schools acquired the school in August 2013 and looks forward to ensuring that the strong ethos and philosophy of the school continues long into the future.
ATC Language Schools is family owned and has more than 40 years' experience in English language teaching in Ireland. We have two permanent year round schools in Ireland along with the most comprehensive range of residential summer programmes for young learners.
The reputation of the Winchester School of English has been built on a foundation of academic excellence in small classes with a very high degree of personal attention. This is just one of the many characteristics that attracted ATC to Winchester when we were looking for a new home in England.
We strongly believe that a happy home stay is an integral part of a successful language course. Living with a host family is the best way to experience the English way of life so our accommodation officer is dedicated to finding the most welcoming families who will look after our students and make them feel at home.
We want our students to use and improve their language skills by discovering and experiencing English life and culture to the full. We encourage our students to do this through our teaching and the social activities we organise.
In a small school everyone knows each other and so we can help all our students gain the maximum benefit from the time they spend with us.
