Vacational Studies is one of the longest established English Summer Schools in England for children and teenagers which has been running for 43 years. Our school is accredited by The British Council and is a member of English UK.
Our approach to learning English is combining language learning with fun sports and activities.

English Language Courses
Task-Based Learning
We use ‘Task-Based Learning’ and ‘Traditional’ teaching in our English language Courses. We have a video showing some of the teaching methods.
‘Task-Based Learning’ develops the learner’s speaking, listening, reading and writing skills by actively working in a group on a topic with students participating and using English as a working language.
Our young learners co-operate in a variety of activities centred on a particular topic. This helps them employ the correct English vocabulary needed to complete the activities. In 2016 the ‘task’ is creating a video. For example, students will:
create a film script
use the script as a basis for language-study
film the script with themselves as actors and film crew
edit the film using computers
take ownership of a film uploaded to Shutterfly which can be enjoyed by family and friends at home.
