English in Totnes
About English in Totnes
Our English courses offer an exciting combination of English lessons and social and cultural activities in the unusual town of Totnes, famous for being a Transition Town and a centre for art, music and natural health. Our unique Cultural Experience courses take you outside the classroom into the museums, galleries, castles and gardens of Devon with an English teacher. Or come as a family and stay in one of our friendly host families or comfortable cottages.
Our job is to help you make progress and to work with you so that you can achieve your own individual goals. Each week you will review your progress with your teacher and review. We help you set realistic targets and give constant advice on your learning. In your last week at the school you will have an “exit interview” where your teacher will help you plan how you can continue learning English when you return to your country.
Totnes is a warm, welcoming community with homestays within walking distance of the school (adults) or a short drive away for juniors in the neighbouring villages.
We have something for everyone- if you are a young adult studying English and doing a local internship, we can help you improve your CV. Or if you are a junior student enjoying our Dynamic English and Adventure programme we will help you to improve your listening and speaking skills to do better at school...there's so much to do in this wonderful market town, close to the sea and Dartmoor.
