Spring International Language Center - Littleton
About Spring International Language Center - Littleton
Spring International Language Center is an educational institution established in 1979 to provide intensive English language training and cross cultural education to international students. SILC currently operates three intensive English language centers, two in Colorado and one in Arkansas. The two Colorado centers are located in Littleton and Downtown Denver. The Arkansas Center is located on the campus of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
A staff of approximately ninety professionals includes teachers with Master’s degrees in English as a Second Language or related fields, extensive overseas experience, and cross cultural skills. Several staff members have written textbooks in the field. Each of the three centers has an International Student Adviser who handles immigration matters as well as university placement. A Housing Coordinator handles our host family program and assists students with housing.
The basic Spring International curriculum is aimed at preparing international students for academic study at American colleges and universities. The centers provide intensive English classes 23 hours per week, including grammar, reading, writing, and listening/speaking. Students may also choose from a variety of electives such as Business English, TOEFL Prep, IELTS Prep, and Spelling/Pronunciation. Students are placed in one of six levels on the basis of standardized tests. Each level lasts nine weeks.
Spring International also offers an Executive English language program for international business executives and other professionals. This program aims at developing the English and communication skills required of professionals who operate in cross-cultural settings. A variety of specialized programs under contract or during the summer are also offered.
Spring International is dedicated to providing student-oriented English language and cross-cultural training of the highest quality and to participating in the continuing development of the ESL/EFL profession.
