Conscious of the fact that is hard for the human brain to focus more than 20 minutes, we have divided our English lessons into several parts. During each part, our students should reach a small goal, providing them with academic satisfaction during their course. Furthermore, in order to help every student to overcome their language issues, we prepare a needs analysis for each one of our students in order to best tailor lessons to learners' individual needs.

Our General English course runs throughout the year. Students have the choice to register from 1 to 48 weeks and can choose to study in the morning from 9am to 12pm, or in the afternoon from 12.15pm to 3.15 pm or from 4pm to 7pm.
Students are required to take an entry level English test in order to assess their level and must also fill out a needs analysis form.

Speak Up London will provide its students with all the learning materials in class and it is also possible to rent or purchase the coursebook at the reception.

FULL TIME ENGLISH COURSE - 15 HOURS PER WEEK

A full-time General English course at Speak Up London is 15 hours per week, 3 hours per day*. Students can choose between 3 different lessons times: 9am to 12pm, 12.15pm to 3.15pm or from 4pm to 7pm. This full-time course is designed for those who want to combine learning English with enjoying London/work part-time.

PART TIME ENGLISH COURSE - 9 HOURS PER WEEK

A part-time General English course takes place 3 days per week and students can choose the days they want to attend. Students can choose between 3 different lessons times: 9am to 12pm, 12.15pm to 3.15pm and 4pm to 7pm. The flexible nature of this course means it is ideal for full-time workers or those students that have limited time or other commitments.

INTENSIVE ENGLISH COURSE - 30 HOURS PER WEEK

The intensive English course takes place every day from Monday to Friday, 6 hours per day. Students can choose between the morning course from 9 am to 3.15pm and the afternoon course from 12.15pm to 7pm. The course is suitable for those students who want to study as much as possible in a short period of time.

Apart from delivering well-planned and innovative lessons, our teachers will guide you to French events in London and organise group outings to allow you to learn French in a fun way, practise your newly-acquired skills and explore the French culture. Every week, you’ll receive a detailed email from your teacher (in French!), giving you tips on how to learn French and including links to French language websites and videos about, so that the learning doesn’t stop when you leave the classroom.

Wednesday 7.10 pm – 9.10 pm Learn Holiday French (Beginners only)

Going on holiday soon? Come and join us for 4 weeks of French lessons and learn all the basics! By the end of this course, you’ll be able to:

• Introduce yourself and ask simple questions about others

• Get by in bars, restaurants and hotels

• Ask for directions

In this French class, we’ll focus on developing your communicative skills, so expect lots of speaking and role-plays! After every lesson, your teacher will email you the summary of its content and set your homework, so you can keep practising throughout the week.

Tuesday 7.10 pm – 9.10 pm Elementary French (A1-2)

Completed the Beginners course? Itching for more? If you already know how to introduce yourself, ask for directions or order un verre, then this is the course for you. You will explore the language further by learning the French alphabet and basic French grammar.

Thursday 7.10 – 9.10 pm Intermediate French (B1-2)

Confident in your skills? Want to learn how to talk about the past, future and discuss more complex topics? Then come and join us on Wednesday! We’ll read, laugh, listen, laugh, discuss, drink some wine, then laugh again and maybe even prepare for a DELF exam (if you’re feeling ambitious). This class is great if you have the basic understanding of the Past tenses and would like to build you confidence in speaking French.
If the only thing you can say in French is ‘Voulez-vous coucher avec moi?’, then it’s time to join Speak Up London for some French lessons!

IELTS EXAM PREPARATION COURSE - 9 HOURS PER WEEK

A part-time IELTS exam preparation course takes place 3 days per week and students can choose the days they want to attend*. The course is currently running from 12.15pm to 3.15pm. The flexible nature of this course means it is ideal for full-time workers or those students that have limited time or other commitments.

Our IELTS course is designed for learners who wish to obtain a highly recognized accreditation, as well as, improve their English skills. The course includes working on general language, grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening, writing, as well as, pronunciation and speaking.

While studying you will also learn and practice the key elements of the IELTS exam which will be studied in depth along with tips and advice and specific vocabulary to help you gain the level you want. A part-time FCE exam preparation course takes place 3 days per week and students can choose the days they want to attend*. The course is currently running from 9.00am to 12.00pm. The flexible nature of this course means it is ideal for full-time workers or those students that have limited time or other commitments.
All of the 5 main areas of English that students are tested on are covered – reading, writing,use of English, listening and speaking. Up to date course books are used as a guideline and structure for the classes, but are supplemented with a lot of extra handpicked materials and taken on occasional excursions which aim to immerse students into real life examples of speaking English.

CAE EXAM PREPARATION COURSE - 15 HOURS PER WEEK

A part-time professional English course takes place 3 days per week and students can choose the days they want to attend*. The course is currently running from 12.15pm to 3.15pm. The flexible nature of this course means it is ideal for full-time workers or those students that have limited time or other commitments.

This course is not your typical Business English course; it is a little bit different from what you find at other language schools. At Speak Up London we designed a special Professional English course for you, that doesn’t simply throw a lot of vocabulary at you, but will actually teach you several professional skills, which you will be using in the working environment. This not-a-typical Business English course covers several topics over a period of 12 weeks.

During this time you will learn everything from how to create a CV and cover letter for your job application and how to impress at the job interview. Starting with writing high-quality emails and making/receiving phone calls in a professional manner, we will work towards improving your negotiation skills with customers and suppliers from different business fields.

Finally we will also teach you how to hold a good presentation for your boss, colleagues and customers so that you can feel self-confident in every possible situation you will be thrown into at the time of your employment.
