As part of the University of New Brunswick Saint John, Saint John College has been welcoming students wishing to improve their English for academic purposes since 1985.
Saint John College offers international students three English-language training options to help them prepare for university study. The English for Academic Purposes (EAP), English-Second-Language Support (ESL), and Pre-MBA Programs attract hundreds of students to UNB Saint John each year.
The ESL Support Program is a one-semester, full-time program for students who have a good understanding of the English language but still require some additional training in specific areas of academic English in order to make the transition into full-time academic study. This program combines advanced ESL courses with academic courses that students take for credit towards their degree programs at UNB Saint John.
Come visit beautiful Saint John, New Brunswick during the summer of 2016 and experience the east coast of Canada while also improving your English skills. This 3-week intensive program will combine daily ESL classes with a wide variety of cultural activities and events designed to help students "live the language" while experiencing Canadian culture at its best.
The Online TESL Certificate is a non-credit professional development program designed for individuals already teaching English as a second or foreign language or those interested in becoming qualified to do so who want to develop a solid foundation in language teaching. Specifically, this program will equip participants with the knowledge, strategies, and skills required to teach English as an additional language while also emphasizing the teaching of English via content (e.g. social studies, science, etc.) and how to face the inherent challenges of such teaching contexts.
This program prepares students for university studies in English and introduces them to the Canadian university environment.
The EAP program is a full-time program designed for students who wish to improve their English in preparation for university study. The EAP Program helps students improve their English language skills while also introducing them to the academic environment of the university and teaching them the academic skills needed for success later in their university careers.
