Throughout the year, the ELC hosts several different special programs for participants from Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Japan, China, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Taiwan, Korea and Thailand. The ELC will design an academic language program and cultural immersion experience based on the group’s requests. For example, a group may come for three weeks and spend the majority of its time participating in American cultural activities in the community in order to improve speaking and listening skills in English. Another group may stay for four weeks and participate in a joint English/Academic Area program in connection with other academic departments in Michigan State University. Our ELC Coordinators will work with each group to develop a program that meets its needs.
