studied General EnglishAmazing experience! The Best teachers I have ever had!
I studied in the school for 1 month, from 24 April to 19 May 2017. I chose full day General English programme since I wanted fast improvements and I got it!
My main problem was speaking. Despite B2 level, I often hesitated and struggled to express my thoughts in English. Luckily, we had a lot of speaking practice during lessons 4-5 hours a day. This part of lessons was my favourite. We discussed different interesting topics in a class. After that, we were discussing topics with mates in pairs or small groups while the teacher was listening to us. Finally, I got teacher's feedback. I quickly felt that this manner of studying was my favourite. It was really super effective! Moreover, I practiced talking in evenings in bars, streets and with my host family. Naturally, my skills have greatly improved. Now I feel much more confident in speaking.
Approximately one time a week we went out to a park for the lesson. I remember how we acquired new grammar nuances and vocabulary drinking coffee at nature. It was amazing! From first minutes it was obvious that the main asset of the school is teachers who work here. They love their work. There are the most considerable people in England I have ever met. I personally and all of my mates felt that we have more than just teachers, they are our friends.
Since I had a full day programme, I had 3 different teachers (morning, lunch, afternoon). I noticed that every teacher has personal unique super-skill : ) There was a great opportunity to get various experience.
Accommodation was good for me. My host family was friendly and talkative. I had only breakfasts included. Luckily, they let me cook my lunches and suppers, therefore I saved much money.
I used to get the school by bus. Even though I spent 30-40 minutes to get the school, I met many friends along the way. Especially I fond of my friend Piero, who lived at the next bus stop. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1679605212052870&set=a.1679572222056169.1073741832.100000102234458&type=3&size=2048%2C1536
Thank you for this brilliant month. I have reached all goals I wanted and got a lot of pleasure. I'm totally excited about you and deeply appreciate what you do. Thank you!

studied General EnglishVery bad experience
Very bad experience. Before signing the contract ask to read the rules of the host family as: Do not take food from the fridge or the cupboards. Ask for some pictures of the bedroom, you run the risk of not being able to move. The distance between the school and the family that they indicate is half an hour, but actually it is one hour or even more. They are not careful in the entrance test scores. They attributed me the A2 / B1 level, and actually I am a beginner, infact during the first lesson I did not understand anything and only after my insistence I have been included in the beginner level.

Dear Fabiola,
We are sorry to hear that you had an unfortunate experience. We know all of our families in Brighton personally and our recruitment is based on ensuring that Host families are committed to delivering the best experience for our students. Host families are required to provide the meal plan requested at the time of booking and are given guidelines of what meals should consist of. We always encourage our students to discuss any issues with the host family directly to avoid any misunderstanding. Yet, if these issues are not resolved our staff are always on hand to help.
We found that your academic level was indeed at A2, but as you reported you felt uncomfortable, you were moved to the level you were happiest at. Travel times can vary dependent on traffic, our advice is based on public transport timetables.
We take on board your feedback and will work to improve our services for future students.
Sincerely,
The Oxford International Team
