About Humboldt-Institut
The Humboldt-Institut is a non-profit organization for teaching German as a foreign language founded in 1977. With more than 70,000 enrolled students from over 160 countries in the past 40 years, the Humboldt-Institut is one of the largest and most experienced providers of German as a foreign language. From a single program center at Ratzenried Castle, the Humboldt-Institut has grown to a network of 17 schools, of which four — Berlin-Mitte, Constance, Lindenberg and Bad Schussenried — are open year-round.
German language courses and more
The Humboldt-Institut offers intensive German courses for all age groups and language levels. Students include individuals, families, groups and executives. In addition to the German courses, the school also offers pathway programs to secondary and higher education in Germany. The boarding school program for international students features more than 40 boarding schools in Germany.
What is special about the German courses at the Humboldt-Institut?
Small classes, active use of the language, transparent performance checks, a carefully coordinated system of classes, homework and exams, as well as the environment of consistently German-speaking, German-learning and German-living — these all, combined with a varied program of cultural and leisure activities, are the cornerstones for a successful language training!
As opposed to other language schools, the Humboldt-Institut works with its own curriculum and can draw on more than 40 years of experience. This offers many advantages:
• Fast and effective learning success
• Appropriate learning content for each age group
• Holistic training in all areas of the German language
• Above-average success rates at standardized exams like the TestDaF
• High degree of student satisfaction
All German courses at the Humboldt-Institut are available as packages that include everything from accommodation to full board, leisure program and excursions. This way the students don’t have to worry about anything and can fully concentrate on their German language acquisition.
For children and teenage students, the Humboldt-Institut provides support and supervision 24 hours a day. Someone they can trust and talk to is always nearby.
The Humboldt-Institut optimizes student success in the shortest possible amount of time, all while making it fun to study in a motivating, German speaking and learning environment.
