With 25,000 students, EHWLC is one of the largest government colleges in the UK. The International Centre at the College won the Queen's Award for Enterprise: International Trade, this is the first time a Further Educational College has won such an award. The College is well known for its range of courses that include language support. The Hammersmith site is located in the heart of London. There is an underground station almost opposite the College giving a direct link to Heathrow airport and London's West End.
The College offers EFL courses throughout the year at different levels, including a summer school. Teacher training and tailor-made courses are available.

The aim of these courses is to improve your all-round English – both fluency and accuracy with a focus on language (Grammar & Vocabulary) and skills (Speaking, Listening, Reading & Writing).
Students receive a course book and follow the syllabus. Students will take a diagnostic test early in the course, a mid-course test, and an end of course test.

These courses aim to raise awareness of the exam - the different tasks – and to develop the skills and language needed to achieve.
Focus on language (Grammar & Vocabulary) and skills (Speaking, Listening, Reading & Writing)
The department runs short intensive IELTS courses for students who will take the exam within the next month, and also English for IELTS courses for students who need more time to prepare.
English for IELTS courses aim to introduce students to the IELTS exam and prepare them to achieve their potential.
The course aims to:
Explain the different parts of the exam and practise the skills needed
Improve language skills to communicate effectively in written and spoken English as required in the exam
Improve your grammar and vocabulary for IELTS
Develop listening and reading skills as required in the exam
