Drexel English Language Center now offers undergraduate conditional admission to Drexel University through the International Gateway foundation year program. There are also 6- and 11-week Intensive English and Business English courses year round, plus bridge programs to other area institutions without TOEFL. Drexel ELC is located on the campus of Drexel University in beautiful, historic Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The country's sixth largest city, "Philly" is about 2 hours by car from mountains, seashore, New York City, and Washington, DC, and offers exciting cultural, recreational, and entertainment opportunities. The ELC offers six levels of Intensive English and a Global Business English/Pre-MBA program for advanced-level students. There are 18 hours of required classes per week plus 6 hours of optional free electives. The new International Gateway foundation year program includes up to 17 university credits in addition to English language classes. All ELC courses include a weekly activities program, free access to university facilities, scholarships for continuing students, a Conversation Network program, and academic advising. Housing choices include on-campus dormitories, off-campus residences, and family homestays. Drexel University offers over 70 undergraduate majors in science, technology, health sciences, information science, media arts, the humanities, and business. Drexel is particularly known for its excellence in cooperative education (co-op), where students alternate periods of full-time employment with their studies.
