About Centro Italiano Firenze

Our school offers a wide variety of courses meeting various needs, requirements and interests of our language learners from abroad. We teach Italian language not only in classrooms but also together with the following programmes: the history of art, the arts, photography, modern architecture and design, political and social analysis, Tuscan cuisine, food and wine. It means that our students can learn Italian language within the programme directly linked to the student's purpose of learning Italian.

The school is well-located in a historic building in the elegant and peaceful Piazza D’Azeglio with the perfect frame of the green spaces. Our students study in spacious air conditioned classrooms and have access to free internet connection and a beautiful garden.The school's close location to many bus routes makes it very easy to reach other parts of the city. Not far from the Piazza D’Azeglio students can find Ambrogio district with its antique food stalls and flea market. It is the area which has less tourists and mostly visited by Florentine residents.This part of Florence is full of cozy coffee shops, restaurants, theatres and little shops which all together create a vibrant and pleasant atmosphere.

We are convinced that those who approach to learning the Italian language is motivated by an interest of knowledge to the culture and history of our country. For this reason we decided to offer as our main course, the Italian lessons in the morning group, to which are added some information afternoon activities included in the price. There is also a choice of afternoon seminars depth. The seminars are offered either in the form of group programs such as private lessons. To start dates of group programs, see the individual pages of the seminars. Private seminars can be offered in a choice of dates of the participants, at any time of year.

The week of the course: orientation tour and welcome dinner,
II week: half-day excursion to a winery with tasting of wines and snacks,
III week: meeting / conversation with a group of Florentine on the quality of life in cities
IV week: guided visit to some workshops.

We want to offer the opportunity for students to investigate aspects of the Italian language, adding to the hours of the morning group some individual hours in the afternoon. You can then devote your efforts to the solution of some problems arose in the morning lesson, face a different linguistic register, explore themes of socio-cultural or professional interest.

Personal teacher:
This course offers the opportunity to spend a week with their tutor
- in your home (apartment or country house)
- at teacher's home (in the teacher's family)
- around the city of Florence by visiting the monuments and museums, neighborhoods, gardens, parks and places of cultural interest or simply visiting craft shops and Florentine shops.

Individual course:
The course is designed especially for those participants wishing to personally or professionally investigate aspects of the Italian language and have limited time available. We then have the option to choose a specific target and turn the study into Italian economy, medicine, business, history or fashion.

Weekly Hours: Relaxed 10-15 hrs/wk, General 15-25 hrs/wk

The goal of this program is to dive for one or more weeks with his class in the Italian reality, practice the language and learn about the various aspects of culture and society. The program is offered both at our school in Florence that also in other cities such as Orbetello, Lucca, Bologna and Naples, where we collaborate with affiliated centers. The method of teaching and leisure activities are tailored to the specific needs of school groups, that in a limited time they will learn to communicate in Italian through communicative activities and meetings with Italian reality. Students are accommodated in selected families with half board, teachers can choose between accommodation in the family or in hotels or apartments. Our organization and teaching staff has extensive professional experience in the sector and on request we are available to provide references from teachers and foreign schools, which already participated in our courses.
