About CCEL - Christchurch
CCEL (Christchurch College of English Ltd) is a private owner-operated language school located on the University of Canterbury campus in Christchurch. We offer quality English tuition within a campus environment. CCEL works in partnership with the University of Canterbury and our students have access to University facilities such as libraries, sports facilities and cafeterias. Students can also transfer from CCEL to the University without taking IELTS. CCEL offers a range of English courses including General English, Business English, IELTS preparation and Cambridge exam preparation. We offer TESOL courses for native and non-native English speakers. We also specialise in group study tour programmes, and welcome over 30 groups to Christchurch each year. CCEL has been teaching English to international students for almost 20 years. Our experience helps students to improve their English and enjoy a unique study abroad experience. We are really looking forward to meeting you and discussing how we can work together.

CCEL Christchurch is a Cambridge-ESOL exam centre.
Students can gain internationally recognised qualifications by taking Cambridge Examination courses at CCEL. Cambridge certificates can help students find jobs which require English skills. Students can sit the Cambridge Exams in the CCEL Christchurch school.

Cambridge English: Preliminary (PET) - low intermediate level
Cambridge English: First (FCE) - late intermediate/upper intermediate level

CCEL's English for Academic Purposes (EAP) - Pathway to UC and UCIC courses are for students who want to:
improve their academic English skills for tertiary study in an English speaking country
gain direct entry (without IELTS) into CCEL's partner institution, the University of Canterbury (UC) and UC International College (UCIC)*
Also:
At CCEL students can prepare for the internationally recognised academic IELTS examination. Improve your English and learn about exam strategies and topics.
