2 IN 1 that’s our curriculum to teach you Conversational Chinese/HSK. With this curriculum we provide 2 results in 1 course. You will learn daily life Conversational Chinese and, for those who are interested, have the opportunity to pass HSK exam at the same time. No additional Exam preparation is needed which saves you both money and time.

Intensive 30 and Intensive 20 courses
The Intensive 30 Course is with 30 classes per week our most immersive Course. It focuses on acquiring the highest level of Conversational or Business Chinese, at the same time preparing the student to pass the Chinese HSK exam.
Compared to the Intensive 20 Course the Intensive 30 Course allows for two additional afternoon classes per day in which what has been learned in the morning is being practiced in an effective yet fun way in the afternoon. Apart from that, the Intensive 30 course includes a Friday afternoon out of class Activity: we take the students outside where they can practice their Mandarin in the real world. Class size is small with a maximum of 8 students.
The Intensive Courses are best suited for those who:
• want to acquire a deep knowledge of Mandarin in all its aspects listening, speaking, reading and writing;
• want to learn Mandarin fast and to the fullest;
• prefer to review and practice in the classroom rather than only at home.
Express 30 Course
The increasing importance of HSK has been the reason to design our Express Course. It is undoubtedly the fastest way to pass your HSK exams with good results. In this course we stretch the student’s language skills to the fullest. The class size is with 4 students small.
The Express course is best suited for those who:
• want to sign up for University or apply for a job and now need to pass HSK 4 or 5 as fast as possible;
• quickly need to acquire extra ‘HSK-points’ to get their VISA under the latest VISA rules;
• want to challenge themselves and see how fast they can master Mandarin.

Our Curriculum 2 PLUS 1

They really helped me whenever I had issues and were really flexible and understanding with my needs, helping me to find the most suitable time to have the classes as have many daily activities.The platform is very usefull it can help you to study for the preview and review classes, so it will be easier to understand the lessons before starting the online classes with the teacther. I was looking for a good Chinese language school & I'm glad I chose Silk Mandarin. My teacher Nina has been such a good teacher. She made Chinese grammar & vocabulary easy & fun to learn. Plus, every one-on-one session have been optimized to get as much value as possible in 2h, I really appreciate it! The school has also been very flexible on adjusting my schedule & I was able to made last minute changes without any issues. Every one at Silk Mandarin has been really nice & helpful. I definitely recommend it!

Après 3 mois de cours intensifs hsk3-4 (3h chaque matin), c'est indéniable, mon niveau a progressé, je suis plus relax quand je parle et j'ai moins peur de communiquer avec des inconnus. Je suis ravie et soulagée d'avoir choisi cette école, l'équipe est vraiment sympa et chaleureuse, ils organisent des évènements, ont toujours quelqu'un pour accueillir les étudiants à leur arrivée à Shanghai, ce n'est pas évident de s'installer en Chine! Mais ils sont là pour nous rendre tous les services utiles qu'on ne comprend pas au début... Qu'est-ce que j'aurais galéré sans l'aide de Coco <3 qui s'est déplacée un dimanche pour m'aider à ouvrir un compte, acheter une carte sim, et nombreuses autres choses. Ma prof Jane <3 s'est adaptée à mes difficultés et est sensible aux besoins de chaque élève tout en étant juste assez exigeante pour être sure de notre progrès. Je n'ai aucune envie d'arrêter les cours avec eux parcequ'on s'y sent bien, dans cette école!

I have studied with Silk Mandarin for a few months now. Teacher Sherley helped me successfully pass HSK3, and we are now working on HSK 4.
Admin Coco and teacher Sherley have been very accommodating and doing their best to be flexible with the schedule. The classes are fun, interactive, and very well-adjusted to my needs and pace. The method is very good, accessible, and approachable. Very professional staff. I recommend it to anyone who wants to study Chinese!

Mandarin Chinese is a very distant language from my mother tongue. After nearly two years of weekly classes, I struggled to construct long sentences. My writing and listening improved, but I needed help to express more complex and informative ideas.
I was looking for a school, and a friend recommended Silk Mandarin to me as she has been a student for the last two years at their school and praised the high standards and enthusiasm of the teachers. After contacting one of their staff members, I quickly understood that Silk Mandarin was a well-organised school with various teaching plans that could be rapidly adapted to my schedule. The one-on-one class perfectly matched my preferences, and the online platform provided all the material to study at my own pace outside of class hours.
Silk Mandarin made a massive difference in my daily learning of the Chinese language. The school provided me with listening, audio, and visual material beforehand to prepare for each lesson. Following the class, the teacher adapted each homework according to my progression with an efficient review for me to understand my mistakes. Furthermore, the teacher was always available to answer my questions and inquiries.
One of the most surprising experiences was the online teaching. I was initially sceptical about having one-on-one teaching lessons entirely online. On the contrary, the online platform allowed unique learning tools, which enhanced the overall quality of the teaching. Another aspect was the teaching methodology of the Slow-Motion Technique. As I always had difficulty in Chinese to organise sentences grammatically, the Slow-Motion Technique set the guidelines to establish the order of each character. With the excellent methodology provided by my teacher, it is far easier for me to learn and understand the Chinese language.
I strongly recommend Silk Mandarin for any student wishing to improve their language skills, succeed in standardised HSK examinations, or have their first experience with Mandarin Chinese. I guarantee it will open a whole new world of knowledge and opportunities.

Learning with Silk Mandarin is fun and efficient. Everybody is very friendly and accommodating. I had studied Mandarin before and before starting with Silk Mandarin they had me do some quick tests to find the right level class. I started with an intensive three-week summer programme, which was great for boosting my Mandarin after a longer break. Since then, I have continued studying one on one.
I like to walk to school in the mornings but I can also schedule online classes when I am not in Shanghai. The classes are fitted to my personal schedule and progress - learning one on one has helped me fresh up my Mandarin and cut down on common mistakes I made before. The extra learning material online and through social media is much appreciated - as well as homework assignments to practice and review in between classes.
