Our Curriculum 2 IN 1
2 IN 1 that’s our curriculum to teach you Conversational Chinese/HSK. With this curriculum we provide 2 results in 1 course. You will learn daily life Conversational Chinese and, for those who are interested, have the opportunity to pass HSK exam at the same time. No additional Exam preparation is needed which saves you both money and time.

Intensive 30 and Intensive 20 courses
The Intensive 30 Course is with 30 classes per week our most immersive Course. It focuses on acquiring the highest level of Conversational or Business Chinese, at the same time preparing the student to pass the Chinese HSK exam.
Compared to the Intensive 20 Course the Intensive 30 Course allows for two additional afternoon classes per day in which what has been learned in the morning is being practiced in an effective yet fun way in the afternoon. Apart from that, the Intensive 30 course includes a Friday afternoon out of class Activity: we take the students outside where they can practice their Mandarin in the real world. Class size is small with a maximum of 8 students.
The Intensive Courses are best suited for those who:
• want to acquire a deep knowledge of Mandarin in all its aspects listening, speaking, reading and writing;
• want to learn Mandarin fast and to the fullest;
• prefer to review and practice in the classroom rather than only at home.
Express 30 Course
The increasing importance of HSK has been the reason to design our Express Course. It is undoubtedly the fastest way to pass your HSK exams with good results. In this course we stretch the student’s language skills to the fullest. The class size is with 4 students small.
The Express course is best suited for those who:
• want to sign up for University or apply for a job and now need to pass HSK 4 or 5 as fast as possible;
• quickly need to acquire extra ‘HSK-points’ to get their VISA under the latest VISA rules;
• want to challenge themselves and see how fast they can master Mandarin.

Our Summer Camp is ideal for parents who want to give their children a head start in learning Mandarin and get to know China! They will be immersed not only in the Chinese language but as much so in its culture. Apart from that there will be plenty of time to socialise with the other children and go on interesting and fun excursions. We specialise in providing a safe, fun, motivating, and educational environment for all kids. Our full time camp is best suited for children in the age of 13 - 17 yrs.

So I took the blended learning class online because I lived in another city and had a busy life schedule. Everything about this program was amazing. I felt heard. Amy took her time creating the perfect schedule for me so that attendance and study were attainable. I actually took both HSK 1 and HSK 2 with Silk Mandarin and both time felt supported. The class sizes are small enough that everyone can practice and the pace of the class is also good. My skill set has improved drastically. I honestly tell everyone I know about this program.

My experience at Silk Mandarin was fantastic overall. I started classes with them just after finishing HSK 4. I was looking for a full-time program and they were able to adapt to my schedule and set up an 8-week program tailored to my needs. I had two teachers and several hours of class every day. In just 8 weeks I improved more than I had in the three years prior. My teachers were very professional and knew exactly what I needed to accomplish my goals. After the 8-week program, I was so impressed that I signed up for another package before it finished. I now feel confident using Chinese to express myself in almost any situation. Silk Mandarin helped me develop the skills I need to use Chinese in daily life, as well as professional life.
I highly recommend Silk Mandarin to anyone who is serious about learning Chinese. They will work with you and fit the course that you need in your schedule, with excellent teachers and resources. I began learning with Silk Mandarin in July of 2022. I had been living and working in China for around 5 years, but had just been using apps to self study. After reaching a level slightly above HSK3, I found it very difficult to improve with self-study.
Taking the HSK4 course with my teacher, Jessica, I found that my reading, speaking, and listening abilities all improved quickly. Jessica was able to quickly identify my language level and then target learning needs within my zone of proximity to challenge me in ways that would push me to learn, while simultaiously maintaining my engagement and boosting my confidence.
My learning experience was done virtually, but I found the application and learning materials quite useful. Silk Mandarin provided me with a course textbook, workbook, and vocabulary flashcards. The learning app we used during class, Classin, never had any problems, was very user friendly, and the teacher was quite efficient in her abilities to use the technology. What's more, the school produces daily social media posts, as well as host many group events, so even though my courses were online, it was easy to feel as though I was part of the community.
Cannot overstate how happy I've been with my experience!

Hannah has been helping my colleague and I study HSK5/6-level business Chinese. In just a few months, my Chinese speaking, reading, and writing ability have improved dramatically.
The coursework directly relates to our line of work, and combines a good balance of writing, reading, and speaking. My colleague and I have different areas that need improvement, and our course has been tailored to help both of us with them.
For higher Chinese levels, it's often hard to strike the right balance in terms of difficulty, but Hannah uses/teaches us vocabulary that is easy enough for us to understand while being hard enough to challenge us and help us improve. I feel like I learn something every class without ever feeling lost.

I started learning at Silk Mandarin during the weekdays afterwork. The courses were appropriately scaled to my ability. One aspect that makes Silk Mandarin different for me, in comparison to some schools I had attended in Shenzhen, were the attentiveness of the teacher to my specific areas of weakness. We quickly dialed in on particular areas (grammar) and spent additional time working on it. My teacher was also remarkably open to discuss a wide range of topics and I enjoyed challenging discussions regarding cultural differences as well as customs.

This is a great little training center in the pants building. My teacher is Christina for HSK 4/5 level one on one lessons. Classes are interesting and tailored to what I like to study. The school itself in Suzhou is small and intimate. There don’t seem to be many school activities, maybe because it’s winter, but we did have a great New Years party :)

If you want to learn Chinese, I think this program is perfect for you!
I wanted to brush up and improve my Chinese abilities. I was introduced to this company through an acquaintance. My classes were conducted online, and this worked perfectly with my schedule. I loved that I can be in the comforts of my home and attend class with qualified teachers that are trained to teach foreigners Chinese. The classes are conducted on the platform called “Classin” and to this day it is the best learning platform that I’ve used.
The staff who registered you with the course will be in charge or will assign someone to check-in and assist with any issues that you might have; they are all super friendly. My teacher Yanqin, has been exceptional, carefully guiding me with my studies. She is not only bubbly but made each lesson comfortable and enjoyable. What I appreciated the most was her adjusting each new learning curve to my study needs. I highly approve of this program!

I have been in China for 8 years and have studied Chinese on and off with private tutors, group classes, Chinese friends and at another local Shanghai language school. By far, Silk Mandarin is the best place I have learned Chinese. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Other schools talked to me in a way that made me feel uncomfortable and not confident. My teacher, Hannah, teaches in a way that works for my visual learning style and my schedule. She explains things in ways that are easy to remember rather a list of words and rules to memorize. I enjoy coming to class. I’m learning faster than I have in the past but the pace feels very comfortable and natural. I recommend getting the flash cards. I quickly stepped up my level of learning when I got them. If you are serious about finally taking the time to learn Chinese, Silk Mandarin is the right place.

The best way for me to recommend Silk Mandarin is to say that there are 2 Mandarin schools within a 15 minute walk from my home (1 is just across the street), but I chose Silk Mandarin, which, door to door, takes me an hour to reach. That’s 2 hours of commuting, 5 days a week, for a 3 hour class. And it’s worth every minute of the commute, even in the middle of a hot Shanghai summer. I had researched and talked with representatives of several Mandarin schools and chose Silk Mandarin because it was clearly the best. The teachers are exceptional, and 6 weeks into intensive courses I am amazed at how much I can speak, read, and write. The courses move quickly, but the teachers are accommodating, patient, and supportive, and I can’t say enough good things about them. I don’t think I’ve ever bumped into a teacher or other staff member in the school who did not stop to talk with me (they all even know my name, which speaks to the professional collaboration and caring nature of the school). After living in China for 7 years and never studying the language, Silk Mandarin has helped open my adopted home to me in a whole new way. Mandarin schools are a dime a dozen in Shanghai, and choosing 1 is overwhelming, but I have already been recommending Silk Mandarin to friends and colleagues, and I will continue to do so.

I'm a student at the Suzhou school doing private classes. I'm very impressed with how my teacher is able to adapt to my specific situation (I don't fit into any HSK level due to how I studied before, so I need a more specialized approach). I've only been at the school for a little bit, but I'm already much more confident using Mandarin which has helped me a lot at work and just in general life. There are also fun activities as well. If you want to learn to speak Mandarin, Silk Mandarin is a good choice.
