With a course designed to meet your needs, courses can include anywhere up to a maximum of 27.5 hours of English Language Tuition per week. The length of the course itself may vary from one week to an academic year in length. With our deliberately low class sizes, we can always focus on the needs of the individual, ensuring our students progress quickly and with confidence.

For All Levels and Abilities
At the start of the course, each student will be assessed to determine their level so that the they can participate in the most appropriate course. There are five levels of English which fall into one of the categories below.

For students who are weak in any of the four main skills of reading, writing, listening or speaking and who do not yet have the ability to pass the Cambridge PET or Grade 4 IELTS examinations.
Intermediate
For students who have already reached a basic level in the above skills but who have not yet passed the Cambridge FCE (First Certificate) or Grade 5.5 in IELTS examinations.
Advanced
For students who have not passed GCSE English, the IGCSE, Cambridge Advanced Certificate or IELTS Grade 6. This level is required for students entering Year 12 (VI Form) or University.

A-LEVEL FOUNDATION YEAR
The Study Centre A-Level Foundation Year course is designed to bring a student's standard of English up to the level required for entry into a mainstream UK Sixth Form. The programme is aimed at International Students aged 16 and above looking to progress on to an A-Level course but who have not yet passed GCSE English, the IGCSE, Cambridge Advanced Certificate or IELTS Grade 6.

Sixth Form Entry
For International students looking to attend a UK Sixth Form, we offer a course of intensive English Language learning and the option to study for one or more IGCSEs. Student's International has over 20 years English Language teaching experience and is accredited by the British Council for the purposes of teaching English as a Foreign Language. With our deliberately low class sizes, we can always focus on the needs of the individual, ensuring our students progress quickly and with confidence.

The course involves up to 39 hours of tuition per week, including 23 hours of English Language lessons.

While the focus of the course is on improving the English Language skills of the student, they may also wish to study towards an IGCE in one or more of the following subjects:

Mathematics, Art, Physics, Geography, Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Economics

Subject Specific Language
When it comes to the Sciences and Mathematics in particular, students may well have a good understanding of the subject from studies in their own country, but may not have the specific English vocabulary required study in the UK. Extra attention will be paid in English Lessons to ensure that our students are suitably equipped with the subject vocabulary required for their chosen course and examinations, with specific attention paid to subjects that may be studied at A-Level after the course is completed.

Students may wish to prepare for one of the many English as a Foreign Language examinations available. At Students International, we currently offer schooling for the following exams:

IELTS (International English Language Testing Scheme)FCE (Cambridge First Certificate)
CAE (Cambridge Advanced Certificate)CPE (Cambridge Proficiency Certificate)
KET (Key English Test)PET (Preliminary English Test)

Please note that students may sit all the above exams, except IELTS, at Students International as we are a registered Cambridge ESOL testing centre. Students may study for IELTS with us, but the examination is held at an official centre.

UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION YEAR
The University Foundation course is designed to bring a student's standard of English up to the level required for entry into a UK University. The programme is aimed at International Students aged 16 and above looking to progress on to a Degree course but who have not yet passed GCSE English, the IGCSE, Cambridge Advanced Certificate or IELTS Grade 6.

For International students looking to enrol on a University course in the UK, we offer a course of intensive English Language learning and the option to study for one or more A-Levels or Cambridge Pre-U Examinations. Student's International has over 20 years English Language teaching experience and is accredited by the British Council for the purposes of teaching English as a Foreign Language. With our deliberately low class sizes, we can always focus on the needs of the individual, ensuring our students progress quickly and with confidence.

Which A-Level and Pre-U Subjects do we Offer?
As well as studying to improve their English Language skills, Students may wish to study subjects at A-level standard to bolster their application to their chosen Universities. Our experienced staff have prepared courses in the following subjects:

SUMMER SCHOOL
The Students International Summer School course is designed to give an insight into English culture, way of life and heritage, while remaining academic in nature. It is a balance of English Lessons, activities and trips. Students aged 12 and over are welcome, at any level of English.

The Course
The course runs during the months of July and August at our main site in Melton Mowbray but, because of the nature of the course and our school, course dates are very flexible. Course lengths range from a minimum of 2 weeks to a maximum of 8 weeks. Students studying for the full 8 weeks are given the opportunity of entering a variety of ESOL examinations.

What does the Course include?
Designed for the individual or group by our dedicated team of teachers, the course is academic in nature with activities and trips organised throughout the week to complement the teaching given. The course comprises between 16 and 20 hours of English tuition per week, in small classes with qualified tutors. Students are placed in classes according to their level of English.

Hot lunch is provided on school days and packed lunches on excursion days. All other meals and Accommodation costs are included.

Students from Around the World
Students come from different countries and we try to make the Summer School a real international experience. The mix of cultures, nationalities and age groups provide a varied environment in which to learn and enjoy summer in the UK.
