This course is held in our Glasgow city centre school. The Pentagon Centre, Glasgow, G3 8AZ

Why Learn Spanish?
Nearly 400m native speakers world-wide.
Spanish is a working language of a number of international organisations, e.g., the United Nations.
Spain and Latin America have a rich cultural life manifested in music, art, literature and cinema. Some of the most exciting developments in the arts in recent years come from Spanish-speaking countries.
In recent years Spain, despite the recession, has been one of the fastest-growing economies in the industrialised world. Spain is a major trading partner of the UK, and trade with Latin American countries is also vigorous and growing.
Learning a language should be an ACTIVE process and an ENJOYABLE experience. It does not only mean learning new words and grammatical structures; a new language is the key to discovering a new culture and meeting new people.

Learning a language is a slow process; it cannot be done overnight. The only way to improve is by slowly developing your own perception and organisation. Many people actually say that it is a life commitment because there is always something new to learn. In language learning as in many other apprenticeships: practice makes perfect.

Making mistakes is an integral part of the experience and you should not be afraid of experimenting, guessing, etc. This is what your classes are here for. Make the most of the opportunity given to you to practice your oral skills.

Spanish Courses: Beginners

Introduce other people and give information about them.
Ask someone else about their habits, what they do, where they live, where they work...
Tell the time.
Talk about what you are going to do in the future.
Ask for what you want in a shop.
Describe people and places.
Express your likes and dislikes.
Give and understand directions.
Read and understand simple texts with a general content.
Write short simple texts in Spanish.

Understand the main points of simple spoken texts and dialogues with a general content.
Modes of delivery

The main emphasis of the course is on the development of listening and speaking skills, although, obviously, all skills overlap and you also spend some time reading and writing Spanish. You will listen to a lot of Spanish and take part in role play exercises and other various interactive activities.
