At Dorset College our native English language teachers have successfully guided our student’s through the IELTS course to achieve the grade in the test they require for the Degree programme of their choice. Many are now studying at institutes of Technology or Universities throughout Ireland.

This course is ideal for international students who wish to enter an Irish University, as it is the key test used to assess the applicants' English language abilities, for either undergraduate or postgraduate degree programmes. It will provide students with a proven level of English for academic, work or career purposes.

As well as English language development and preparation which is so important for IELTS, the course also focuses on the academic skills and learning strategies that will enable students to participate successfully at undergraduate or postgraduate level programmes.

The International Foundation Programmes are designed to meet the needs of International Students at undergraduate and postgraduate level. These one-year programmes are structured to provide a strong emphasis on the development of English and academic skills and also encourage active learning by engaging with relevant and contemporary issues.

It will provide International Students with English language skills and a wide range of Academic subjects that enable them to successfully participate and embark on a Degree or Master’s Degree Programme alongside their Irish counterparts. It is an ideal route to equip international students with the skills and knowledge required for the rigours of University life.

Dorset College Dublin provides tailor-made courses and packages for both open- and closed-groups of adult students. Over the years we have built up considerable experience in working with adult groups who request specialised English language programmes. Our packages include course fees, airport transfers, accommodation options and optional social and excursion packages. We can offer programmes to groups studying specific topics of interest; Irish Culture or general English classes to students integrating with the schools' other general English classes.
