Colchester Institute is a college of further and higher education in Essex and offers a wide range of courses to help you with your education and chosen career.
Every year Colchester Institute welcomes international students from many different countries. The majority of our students are from the Essex area however we do currently have representation of 80 nationalities within the College. International students choose Colchester Institute for many different reasons and these include lower cost of living, smaller class sizes, one to one support from tutors, approximately 50 minutes by train to London, quiet countryside environment, beautiful East Anglian coastline and the opportunity to experience British culture and make new friends.

Cours de Anglais général
Ce cours s'adresse aux étudiants âgés: 16-70
Students will receive guidance on all parts of the exam (reading, writing, speaking, listening) and the use of English. Working in pairs and small groups with language practice activities will ensure students improve their fluency and accuracy. Students will listen to CDs, read and write a variety of texts and do grammar and vocabulary activities. Students will have regular progress tests throughout their studies and will receive individual meetings with their tutor to discuss their learning and development. Students will also join exam classes, preparing for Cambrige English main suite qualifications (PET, FCE, CAE, CPE) and IELTS preparation classes.

Stepping Up offers individualised full-time Study Programmes for 16 – 19 year old students for whom English is a second language. The Colchester Institute English Language department is a nationally recognised ‘centre of Excellence’ and provides a welcoming environment for all. Stepping Up Study Programmes equip you with English language, maths, ICT and employability skills necessary to progress onto a variety of vocational courses and, eventually, enter the world of work.
