Francesca\' review

The campus was really nice it had lots of green and even some cows and dogs going around the place. The building itself is beautiful and also very very English\1

As for the accommodation I was in a room with 2 girls from different countries so I had the opportunity to often speak English. The room was cosy but maybe a little too small for three people.

Moving on to the lessons, the Core English lessons were amazing even though I was the only one from my country.

All in all, there were people from 13 different countries, and I met some lovely people that I became friends with really quickly!

I think that More Than English is a very good summer school.

The people from other countries were very nice.

The rooms were big and colourful and my bed was nice and relaxing.

There were lots of activities and my favourite was football, even though I didn’t win.

The food was also very good and sometimes we had big portions and the chef was nice and friendly.

There were loads of trips and excursions, London was great and and I had a fantastic time.

I would definitely recommend More Than English!

I think More Than English is an exciting summer school with lots of activities like swimming and football.

When I first arrived I was thinking that it was not that fun but after a few days I thought it was great.

The rooms were good and there were both big and small ones. I shared my room with boys from France, Spain, Italy and Thailand! I also met a lot of other nationalities.

I loved my class too. My teacher Gemma was such a good teacher. My favourite thing that I did in class was create a music festival and did a film. We then watched it and it was great.

In More Than English we had lots of activities. The best one was paintball because we had lots of fun. I would recommend it, it's very good!

The Moor Park school is marvellous. It’s really old and that makes it feel traditionally English. It is situated in the countryside. This school is really sage andI feel comfortable in it.

As for accommodation, the rooms are clean and cosy. There are carpets everywhere and I feel like I am in my house because of it. Generally the school is spacious and has a swimming pool and a big sports hall.

On the subject of the classes, we had a group of ten people and 7 different nationalities! My classmates were friendly and patient. We were always busy and had something to do. Our teacher was a native speaker and we also had a student from England!

Also the food here is really delicious. My favourite dinner that we had was curry, whilst the best breakfast was pancakes with fruit and for lunch, fish and chips!

All in all I would love to come here again.

Diego Wanderley Review

The More Than English summer school was overall a completely exciting experience that of course includes the campus. Although it is small, it maintains that traditional British atmosphere with an old victorian mansion, surrounded by modern facilities. It is simply marvellous.

The academic experience was a big surprise for me as it diverged from traditional modules. The school’s name isn’t as much clever marketing as it is the truth, given that aside from grammar, I developed life skills and learnt more about myself as a person.

As for the activities, it can be said that I was never bored during my time at summer school. That describes, quite honestly, just how fun the activities were.

However the best part is actually how the staff helped to create ‘hands’ between everyone in the school be it the staff or the students. Indeed I really felt as part of a big family in the end.

What do you think it would be like to live in a place with huge gardens, a swimming pool , 2 tennis courts and massive rooms? Well that is what it’s like to live on the incredible campus.

As for accommodation, my bedroom was huge. I shared it with 5 other girls who are from all around the world and it was so much fun.

Moving on to the food, it isn’t bad. for breakfast there was always toast and sometimes there were croissants and pancakes. What I liked about lunch and dinner was the fact there was always a salad bar. The chef made some Italian food which was delicious.

As for the English lessons, I really enjoyed them. Every day we practised our listening, writing and speaking skills.

As well as the lessons, we had a lot of activities too. My first ‘get ahead’ option was business. We created a web translation company called ‘ivision’. It was so much fun!

All in all, summer at Moor Park was the perfect chance for me to use my English in lots of different ways and I am now more fluent. Not only do I feel more confident about my English, but I’ve also got around 30+ new friends from around the world. I have been to many summer schools and I can assure you that this one has the best mix of nationalities so far.

Imagine you live in a place with a huge garden, a swimming pool and a tennis court. This is what you are going to find if you come to More Than English.

I liked my room and I really liked the new girls that I met in my room. However, next time it would be better if I could choose the girls who would be staying with me.

The food was nice. For breakfast there was pain au chocolat, that was amazing, and I couldn’t stop eating them. In the afternoons we had different types of food every day but my favourite was the lasagne that I just had to eat again. As for dinner we also had different types of food with the best being pasta with a beef sauce. The only thing that I would change would be less chilli. Some food was so spicy that you couldn’t eat it all.

The English lessons were really nice and my teacher Kelly always said: ‘It will be really funny’, and she was always right. All the lessons were exciting and really interesting. In my class I got to know 7 different nationalities. Without them, it wouldn’t have been the same, so I really want to thank all of them for making my classes more fun and more exciting.

Finally instead of tears on my face there was a smile that is going to stay with me for a long, long time. I will never forget all the friends that I made here. It was one of the best experiences of my life and I am so thankful for all the people at More Than English.

David Rancano Review

My name is David and I’m 15, from Barcelona, Spain. I’ve been to different summer camps since I was 12 and the thing that impressed me the most, by far, was the closeness and familiar feeling that this summer school gave me because in the other camps there were more than 100 people whereas here there were only 50. We were like a big family!

Not only this but the mix of nationalities was impressive. When I was there, there were people from 14 different countries! Initially I thought each nationality would just hang out together but instead everyone got on really well. In my room I shared with a 2 guys from Brazil and Croatia, and it helped me to really improve my English.

The choice of activities to were great too. I tried golf, tennis and archery. The coaches were fantastic too. When I arrived I had hardly played tennis but now I want to play it as much as I can.

Overall there is the right balance between free-time and lessons/activities and I couldn’t have met nicer, like-minded people.

Maria McCrea\'s review

More than English is located near Ludlow. The school itself is a boarding school during the year but in summer it turns into something magical: More Than English! There were students from all over the world that came just to learn English.

In terms of accommodation, the rooms accommodate 3 - 7 girls. I shared with two other girls from other countries and we had to talk in English. In my opinion the rooms could be bigger, with wardrobes and a bit more space. However I honestly couldn’t have been happier with Laura and Ania as our house parents. They took good care of us and gave us snacks at night!

Moving on to the food. It isn’t the worst but it could be better. Some things were very spicy or I thought you needed to add salt, but in general it’s good. I liked the variety of the different kinds of food we had.

As for the staff, they are the most important people because without them we wouldn’t do anything. I love the staff.

Turning to the lessons themselves, I personally think that we did too many lessons - we had 3 hours in the mornings. It’s just like going to school. However I enjoyed the English lessons, we had a lot of fun.

As for the trips, I also enjoyed the trips, which were very well organised and were very fun. I enjoyed all the trips and excursions we did.

What I really liked about More Than English was there were a lot of people from different nationalities. You meet people from all the other countries and make friends. I honestly recommend MTE to everyone. It’s so much fun, you learn and you can even go shopping too! I hope that next year I have the opportunity to come back again because it’s an amazing experience. It’s unforgettable.

Thomas Bajor review

More Than English is situated near the village of Ludlow. It’s actually an old building where a rich family used to live years before. For me it’s a really clean, old building. When I arrived I noticed there was a lot of space to do lots of things.

In terms of accommodation our bedroom was quite small but we didn’t need more. I was happy with the other guys and we were happy together. Maybe the only bad thing was that my mattress wasn't very good.

Moving on to food, I think the food was varied. Sometimes it could be really good and original but other times it wasn’t so good. However if I had to compare it to the other summer school last year, I prefer this one.

As for the lessons, the English lessons were so cool and 100 times more fun than my English lessons in Monaco!! I learnt quickly without learning like 560 words per lesson or whatever. That’s a really good point about this school.

Finally, I only did one summer school before this one but this is much better because of only one thing: Here there were only 60 of us rather than 260.
