Our Curriculum 2 IN 1
2 IN 1 that’s our curriculum to teach you Conversational Chinese/HSK. With this curriculum we provide 2 results in 1 course. You will learn daily life Conversational Chinese and, for those who are interested, have the opportunity to pass HSK exam at the same time. No additional Exam preparation is needed which saves you both money and time.

Intensive 30 and Intensive 20 courses
The Intensive 30 Course is with 30 classes per week our most immersive Course. It focuses on acquiring the highest level of Conversational or Business Chinese, at the same time preparing the student to pass the Chinese HSK exam.
Compared to the Intensive 20 Course the Intensive 30 Course allows for two additional afternoon classes per day in which what has been learned in the morning is being practiced in an effective yet fun way in the afternoon. Apart from that, the Intensive 30 course includes a Friday afternoon out of class Activity: we take the students outside where they can practice their Mandarin in the real world. Class size is small with a maximum of 8 students.
The Intensive Courses are best suited for those who:
• want to acquire a deep knowledge of Mandarin in all its aspects listening, speaking, reading and writing;
• want to learn Mandarin fast and to the fullest;
• prefer to review and practice in the classroom rather than only at home.
Express 30 Course
The increasing importance of HSK has been the reason to design our Express Course. It is undoubtedly the fastest way to pass your HSK exams with good results. In this course we stretch the student’s language skills to the fullest. The class size is with 4 students small.
The Express course is best suited for those who:
• want to sign up for University or apply for a job and now need to pass HSK 4 or 5 as fast as possible;
• quickly need to acquire extra ‘HSK-points’ to get their VISA under the latest VISA rules;
• want to challenge themselves and see how fast they can master Mandarin.

Our Curriculum 2 PLUS 1
2 PLUS 1 that’s our curriculum to teach you Business Chinese/BCT. As a basis for our Business Chinese teaching we use our Conversational/HSK teaching 2 IN 1. On top of that, we add vocabulary, structures and phrases on Business Chinese topics, so indeed 2 PLUS 1.

Starting HSK3 felt like an impossible and mammoth task. I nearly didn’t even start the course. However when I met Lindsay, she filled me with confidence and self belief. I knew no characters (not even simple ones such as 我) and wasn’t confident with HSK2 despite passing the exam. Lindsay carefully assessed my prior knowledge and dedicated her personal time to ensure that my lessons were personal to my level and purposeful rather than always using the Official PPTs. Throughout the review time, Lindsay was patient and always checked that the pace was manageable. She constantly checked that I retained the new information by using PPTs, Quizes, Flashcards etc. Throughout the HSK3 course I always felt listened to, Lindsay would write notes on what I wasn’t confident with and use these to plan the next lessons. There were many days I was exhausted from work but Lindsay would spot these days and quickly adapt plans to ensure that my lesson was active and I stayed in engaged. I never felt dumb for instantly forgetting a character or having a mind blank, instead Lindsay used this moment to teach me interesting and fun ways to remember the characters. I finished the course 1 month before my exam. I was blown away at the review sessions Lindsay planned for me. She went through every HSK3 character with me and created practise exam questions using the characters that were unfamiliar to me. This must have taken her hours and I am truly grateful for this! Looking back, I can’t believe how much I have learned since the beginning of my sessions. My progress is down to the dedication and encouragement that Lindsay gave me throughout the course. I can’t thank Lindsay enough and would recommend her to anyone who wants to have fun learning Chinese.

the tools (online ppt and quizlet) are not functional. the team is not professional. there is no follow up. nothing ever works. classes are a waste of time you can do by yourself. for a company that's been going on for years its very surprising not to mention super disappointing. location is central but building is tedious. pretty much nothing positive . I gave up.

I decided to do an intensive course last summer when I couldn't leave the country and wanted something to do. Since then, I haven't looked back! The teachers are friendly and welcoming, and the new office in Dongfangzhimen is very spacious, well-equipped, and has a beautiful view of the city!
Siqin, Suzhou's consultant, is very friendly and helpful. She makes everyone who comes into the Silk Mandarin office feel very welcome.
My teacher Lindsay is well-prepared for my classes and tailors the content to focus on developing my weaker skills. Not only does she thoroughly cover the HSK content, she also adds in extra local knowledge and history to help me better understand Chinese culture.
Apart from the wonderful staff, Silk Mandarin also regularly organise events and activities for students and non-students where you can meet new people and practice your Chinese.

I have studied HSK 1 and 2 at Silk Suzhou branch. It's been a great experience, I've improved my Chinese a lot and have become more confident in using it. My teacher Lindsay is very nice and puts a lot of effort to make the classes enjoyable. She often teaches extra material that we might find interesting or useful, such as vocabulary or some everyday idioms. Siqin the CC is always very friendly and welcoming too. It's a great place to study if you want to improve your Chinese quickly.

I started studying at Silk Mandarin for 7 months, starting in mid-June, at the very beginning with HSK1, and am now currently studying HSK5, I have mainly studied the I-30 program, and also the I-20 program for one month.
My teacher Lois, has always been exceptional, carefully guiding me from the beginning of my studies, to now, carefully teaching me vocabulary for the level ahead to make each stage easier and easier. I am incredibly grateful that I have been able to keep the same teacher for all of this time as it has greatly helped speed up my progress. For HSK1, HSK2 and HSK3 level Lois made excellent use of the flash cards and Silk Mandarin talking pen to benefit me, and since starting HSK4 and HSK5 we have been able to use more videos in class, linking to our studies. I have found that my speaking has improved rapidly thanks to my teacher’s first rate techniques. I have always struggled with learning languages before, but thanks to Lois’ guidance and patience I have found learning Chinese a lot more manageable than I expected, I actually find myself a little surprised to be looking forward to each day’s 3 hours of classes. I could not have asked for a better teacher during my time studying at Silk Mandarin, and I plan to keep studying until I complete HSK6.
In my daily life I have found that the extra material covered by my teacher has helped me greatly, with homework tasks that have made excellent use of my opportunities to practice speaking. The whole course is well put together, but it is my teacher, Lois’ extra work and dedication that has really helped me make best use of this opportunity to learn Chinese, for which I am eternally grateful.
The whole school has a nice environment, from Siqin’s friendly greeting, to the whole team together. I have also been fortunate enough to have a couple of classes with Christina, who is also an outstanding teacher. Although I have not had class with Shirely or Hailey I am sure that they are also excellent. If you are looking for a friendly school, that will support you this is the perfect place.

Do not be hesitating if you are considering this school to be your study place. It has a nice approach in terms of learning style as well as personalized study plan. Even if you take regular Chinese HSK 1-6 classes, they will still be made to make sure that your everyday life or work benefits from it. The teachers are nice and friendly all over the place, especially I appreciate my personal tutor Hannah for great patience and professionalism she has for me.
