IELTS Advanced
If you need an IELTS score of 7.0 or above to get into the course you want, you can participate in our IELTS Advanced program. The program helps you prepare for the IELTS Academic Module test, and will also familiarise you with Australian learning styles and study techniques.
The program runs for 15 weeks, with 25 hours of class each week.
At the end of the program you will take an IELTS test.

English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
Our 12-week English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program is suitable for students who have met the academic entry requirement for Foundation, University Diploma, or QUT degree programs, but don't have the required English language proficiency level. This program is also suitable for students who do not plan to continue into another QUT program, but who want to improve their language skills for professional or personal purposes.
We offer two streams of EAP:
for students who want to progress directly into their chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree program
for students who want to progress into Foundation or University Diploma programs.
Both EAP streams help you:
improve your English skills to assist you to meet the English language entry requirements of your chosen course
develop skills for successful university study
enhance your language skills for professional or personal purposes.
Students who are in Brisbane can take a QUTIC EAP or EAP Plus entry test to meet the entry requirements for this program.
EAP for undergraduate or postgraduate degree programs
This program will help prepare you for a degree course at QUT, or will assist you to develop your English proficiency for professional or personal reasons. The program will help develop your skills in:
academic reading, writing and note-taking
listening and speaking
study and research.
EAP for Foundation or University Diploma program
This program will help prepare you for QUTIC's Foundation or University Diploma program, including developing skills in:
academic reading, writing, and note-taking
listening and speaking
study and research.
EAP Plus
Our 24-week EAP Plus program lets you start your EAP course earlier. Enter the course at a pre-intermediate level and begin developing your English language and study skills for university study or for professional and personal purposes.
This program is suitable for students who have met the academic entry requirements of a QUT degree program, but don't have the required English language proficiency level.
This program will help you meet the English requirements for your chosen degree. You will also develop your skills in:
academic reading, writing, and note-taking
listening and speaking
study and research.
EAP Advanced
Our 12-week EAP Advanced program will help prepare you to get into an approved QUT undergraduate or postgraduate course that has English language requirements of IELTS 7.0.
This program will help you meet the English language requirements for the approved degree without needing to take another IELTS test.
