At York St John high quality teaching and learning is the foundation of everything we do. We were rated in the top 20 of institutions with the highest student satisfaction scores for teaching quality in the 2013 Sunday Times University Guide.

Much of your learning will be done in lectures, seminars, tutorials and workshops but you will also experience group work, learning via Moodle, our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), work placements, client-projects, practical and studio work. The mix and number of contact hours will depend on which course you are studying.

Our students consistently tell us that both our academic and support staff are approachable, friendly and supportive and our academic tutor system ensures that you have all the support you need, when you need it. The National Student Survey (NSS) 2015 results showed 90% of students stated Academic staff are enthused and 92% reported staff are good at explaining, as well as 87% of students finding staff contactable.
