ELI is an English language program that is designed for ESL students who has the intention to learn English as quickly as possible in order to satisfy College Reading and Writing Readiness requirements for college classes, transfer to universities or to practice a profession in the U.S. This program is designed and created for international students, au pairs, US high school graduates and any other English learner who has academic or professional goals.
Students taking ELI courses have access to an ELI tutor and a state-of-the-art language lab which has 34 stations, a full-time lab assistant, language software for practice with all language skills and is open 35+ hours a week for individual use.

This course offers intensive academic language instruction at the beginning level to English language learners who want to pursue academic studies in American colleges and universities or who want to practice their careers in the United States. The course is divided into two sections: one focuses on Reading and Oral Skills and the other focuses on Writing and Grammar. However, both sections provide integrated practice and reinforcement for students in all skills--reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar and vocabulary--as well as American culture and study skills.

CLC is my favorite school in America. professors were nice, kind, helpful, and taught me lots of English skills. This course was not very easy but I promise that you will learn the most useful English skills in your life. I took this course four years ago and I still remember that everyone in this school were very friendly and never made me nervous. Take this course and enjoy it!

College of lake County is a great place to start your academic path especially with English preparation. CLC was my first school on north America before I transfer to another university to purse my master degree. CLC has a wealthy balanced English program for international students which focuses on improving different skills such as reading, writing, grammar and oral skills. It has a warm friendly environment with very helpful and welcoming staff. I also highly value the supportive services that CLC provides such as English tutors that helps students to improve their reading and writing, personally, it helped me a lot.
CLC environment also helped me to learn about the American culture and engage with it quickly which laso helped me to go over any culture shocks that I faced, I am still thankful for that.
CLC builds great English foundation for a successful academic path with supportive professors, helpful staff and friendly welcoming environment.

First time in USA and first time in a North American College, I was scare and I did not know what to expect about the teacher and the school environment. However, the school was so welcoming since day one and they offer me support all the day with my English courses. The courses were accessibles to pay and the service was and has been always friendly and welcoming.
I attend CLC for almost 4 years and the english preparation was better than any other place and I'm sure that is because the wonderful instructors that guide me in every part of my preparation.
If I have the chance to be in CLC studying all my life, I just do it!!!

I took English improve courses at clc 4 years ago. Teachers were very patient, helpful and really important thing is my English skills were impoved. I also practiced a lot with my teachers and classmates, and we made friends with each other. It's good thing for students who just enter a new language environment!
