International House Cairo (IH Cairo) is part of the International House World Organisation, a global network of 160 language schools in over 50 countries and one of the largest and oldest groups of language schools in the world. IH Cairo offers all learners a well-structured course, a positive and enjoyable learning environment as well as educational support.
IH Cairo is located in Dokki neighborhood, in the heart of Cairo. The neighborhood is quiet yet very central, students can find all the facilities they may need near the school. Students will enjoy a full immersion in Egyptian history, culture and language, as the school is near a lot of touristic places in Cairo, such as: the pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, The Egyptian Museum, Khan El-Khalili and the Fatimid Cairo.
We follow the CEFR standards (Common European Framework of Reference), which is a global scale of language level. It describes what people can actually do in the language. These abilities start from knowing just a few words, to knowing and using the language almost perfectly.

- Egyptian Colloquial Arabic or (Aameya) is the most widely understood dialect of Arabic in the Middle East. With our communicative approach, and our focus on small classes, students can quickly progress through our levels to a point where they can really start speaking. In this course we focus on Listening, Speaking, Pronunciation, Reading, Writing, Vocabulary, Grammar as well as the fun activities. The ECA course has 13 levels, ranging from Beginners (Level One) to Advanced (Level 13). Each ECA level is 40 Hours. Course Schedule: from Sunday to Thursday, 2 hours per session.
- Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) which is the written Arabic language used all over the Arab countries. It is derived from the Classic Arabic which is the language of the Holy Quran. MSA or 'Fus'ha' is used in academia and the formal media such as newspapers, meaning that as students’ progress they become able to follow Middle Eastern current affairs and read Arabic literature and Islamic texts. In this course we focus on Listening, Speaking, Pronunciation, Reading, Writing, Vocabulary, Grammar as well as the fun activities. Each MSA level is 60 Hours. Course Schedule: from Sunday to Thursday, 3 hours per session.
