More than English is located near Ludlow. The school itself is a boarding school during the year but in summer it turns into something magical: More Than English! There were students from all over the world that came just to learn English.
In terms of accommodation, the rooms accommodate 3 - 7 girls. I shared with two other girls from other countries and we had to talk in English. In my opinion the rooms could be bigger, with wardrobes and a bit more space. However I honestly couldn’t have been happier with Laura and Ania as our house parents. They took good care of us and gave us snacks at night!
Moving on to the food. It isn’t the worst but it could be better. Some things were very spicy or I thought you needed to add salt, but in general it’s good. I liked the variety of the different kinds of food we had.
As for the staff, they are the most important people because without them we wouldn’t do anything. I love the staff.
Turning to the lessons themselves, I personally think that we did too many lessons - we had 3 hours in the mornings. It’s just like going to school. However I enjoyed the English lessons, we had a lot of fun.
As for the trips, I also enjoyed the trips, which were very well organised and were very fun. I enjoyed all the trips and excursions we did.
What I really liked about More Than English was there were a lot of people from different nationalities. You meet people from all the other countries and make friends. I honestly recommend MTE to everyone. It’s so much fun, you learn and you can even go shopping too! I hope that next year I have the opportunity to come back again because it’s an amazing experience. It’s unforgettable.

More Than English is situated near the village of Ludlow. It’s actually an old building where a rich family used to live years before. For me it’s a really clean, old building. When I arrived I noticed there was a lot of space to do lots of things.
In terms of accommodation our bedroom was quite small but we didn’t need more. I was happy with the other guys and we were happy together. Maybe the only bad thing was that my mattress wasn't very good.
Moving on to food, I think the food was varied. Sometimes it could be really good and original but other times it wasn’t so good. However if I had to compare it to the other summer school last year, I prefer this one.
As for the lessons, the English lessons were so cool and 100 times more fun than my English lessons in Monaco!! I learnt quickly without learning like 560 words per lesson or whatever. That’s a really good point about this school.
Finally, I only did one summer school before this one but this is much better because of only one thing: Here there were only 60 of us rather than 260.

More than English is an international summer school that offers three weeks of having fun. It is located near Ludlow, UK. In the year it is a school called Moor Park but in the summer it is More Than English which was opened in 2015.
In More Than English there is a melting pot of different people from different nationalities that have different thoughts, traditions and languages. This gives everyone an opportunity to know new people and learn from them. For example I met people from Spain, Brazil, Poland and I’m from Mexico!
On the subject of food, the breakfast was quite good, like the chocolate croissants, eggs, toast, and pancakes. They made really good British food as well such as Fish and Chips and a BBQ. Sometimes the food was too spicy, but generally it was good.
In terms of accommodation, I shared my room with 5 more people and the room was colourful but there wasn't a lot of space. In general the residence was good and our house parent was really good and happy with us.
As for the staff, all of them were always motivated and making sure we had fun and had a great time. They were always very organised and the teachers taught us English very well. I liked their attitude.
All the trips we did were great for example London, Oxford, Bath or the Harry Potter studio! The staff gave us free time too for things like shopping which was great.
In terms of the activities, all the activities we did were great and really fun like paintball, zorb football, hockey and football. The Get Ahead lessons were also really fun - you could do golf, tennis, Shakespeare etc.. to improve your chosen area.
As for the weather, Ludlow was sometimes sunny and sometimes cold and cloudy but we were always able to have a good time outside.
To summarise, in my opinion the staff did a really great job and everything was very organised. They always kept us entertained. I recommend MTE because it’s great for learning English and having a great time.

Campus:
It is a really big, open place full of greenery. I think the landscape is great.
Accommodation:
My bedroom was huge. I shared with 4 other girls. 2 of them were Italian and they usually spoke in Italian. Anyway it was nice.
Food:
I love any kind of food and the chef made some Italian food, Indian food and English food which was good. Also if you were vegan or vegetarian they made special food for you.
Core English:
The teacher was nice. They wanted you to improve your skills and they always motivated the students.
Get Ahead:
I chose Shakespeare as my extra study option. In class we read Macbeth and made a prediction about what was going to happen in the story.
International Experience:
There was a mix of nationalities. I met people from Brazil, Mexico, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, Italy, France, Spain, Czech Republic, Croatia, Poland and Thailand!
Special Features:
Activities and trips were good. You have so many options, you can do almost anything! Ok I’m over exaggerating but it was very good!
All in all:
It was my second year and I feel it was even better. I want to keep growing and trying new things.

More Than English is situated in Moor Park, Ludlow. I think it is one of the best locations because you have a lot of places for different activities. The rooms are big enough and the the beds are comfortable. The campus looks like a castle! What I really liked was your room has a nice view of the English landscape.
Core English
What is very important when you go to a summer school is the teaching. I liked the fact that teachers are always ready to help you. In the lessons we spoke a lot, learnt new vocabulary and listened. The teachers made sure you understood everything. So if you want to improve your English skills, I think More Than English has a lot of variety.
Get Ahead
What I really enjoyed here was that the pupils have an opportunity to choose what they want to do. You can play tennis, football, gold, dance or do a speech-making group, PET group or make a film. It is really exciting.
International Experience
I couldn’t believe that there were so many nationalities from all over the world. Besides, a lot of people have a good level of English so you can easily speak with them. It was really interesting to be present at International Night. You could try food from different countries, especially Mexican and Brazilian sweets.
Food
There are different types of food. You can try dishes from different countries, for example, we ate lasagne and pasta. But honestly speaking, I didn’t like it that much.

Campus
It’s a very big and beautiful place so you can do everything. There is a swimming pool and a lot of grass where you can play sports.
Accommodation
I really liked my bedroom! It has a big window and you can see the garden. I shared with 4 other students and the house parents were awesome. I think the problem was, there were too many meetings and not enough showers, but I liked the space in my bedroom.
Food
The food was ok but it was too spicy and you need to add more salt. Also all the desserts had raisins inside. There were lots of good food though like hamburgers or lasagne/
Core English
We did something different every class, like making country for a trip and a lot more things.
Teachers and Staff
They work really hard for you to make sure you have a good time. They are well organised and were easy to get on with
Activities
I had a lot of fun practising English at the same time. Also I never did the same thing unless I wanted to.
Trips
The trips were awesome and the staff made sure you were ok by following the rules. Sadly you have to come back to campus!
Personally I think that More Than English is awesome even with all the cons, you will make new friends, learn new things and have a lot of fun.
To conclude I recommend More Than English because it will expand the way you see the world. The teachers and staff do a brat job so make an effort to learn, have fun and make new friends.

Etudié Anglais généralAn amazing summer experience
This year we spent 15 marvellous days in this beautiful school in the middle of Ludlow countryside. Teachers were always nice and kind and we enjoyed very much the lessons because they engaged us also in very interesting activities and games.
After school we had many new activities to choose and we tried many new things as golf, cricket, benchball, rounders, we played drums and guitars, we had dancing lessons, too. And we even performed a dancing show in a theatre ! Tennis and football coaches were great !
We went on excursions in many interesting places: Shrewsbury, Worcester, Liverpool with the fantastic Beatles’ Museum, Birmingham and Ludlow, of course, where a teacher explained us all the castle story while walking together around the ruins.
Food in the college was really good and we tried diffferent tastes from different countries, always freshly made.
Accommodation was nice, comfortable and always clean.
And the staff...they are all really lovely, kind and always ready to help us : when we were homesick, when we needed help for any kind of situation and that made us all feel 'at home ' ! That was fantastic!
