Sobre Mackenzie School of English
Established in 2008 with a strong focus on quality, attention to detail, and a personal service, Mackenzie School of English is an independent organisation based in the beautiful city of Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital. In May 2018, we moved to a new building – an iconic 18th century, sandstone, former church.
Refurbished to an exceptionally high standard and designed specifically for our needs from the bottom up, this traditional building but with modern facilities and a contemporary feel, has already been coined the ‘perfect learning environment’.
We have 10,000 sq ft of floor space with YLs occupying the ground and first level and the adult school self-contained on the top. Both have key pad access entry codes and the building is covered by CCTV - student safety and well-being is paramount at Mackenzie School and we take Safeguarding very seriously.
In designing the new School, it was important for us to be able to separate YLs and adults and not have them mixing in any way even though they are in the same building.
We are renowned for delivering high standards and paying attention to the finer details and now delighted to carry this over to our adult provision!
Our main school is open year-round and we also operate a summer residential programme at Merchiston Castle Boarding School in July for 12 - 17 year olds.
We have a wide range of options to suit all interests and will design bespoke programmes upon request. Our specialist programmes are very popular now and we view this as a sign that the youth market is changing - diversity is the key and we are adapting to demand.
