About Australia Onsung International College (AOIC)

Australia Onsung International College (AOIC) was established in 2007 and is an education ministry of Australia Onsung Church Incorporated. Australia Onsung Church (AOC) is an Assemblies of God Australia church and Esther Shin is both the senior pastor of AOC and the founder of AOIC. AOIC was accredited by NEAS and registered with CRICOS in 2008.

AOIC started with specialising in pathways to theological colleges. It was the first English language college to cater to the English language requirements of Bible Colleges in Australia by designing a customised English for Theology program to assist ESL students gain entry into Bible colleges in Australia. Through the English for Theology course students were able to enter up to a Master’s Degree in theology or ministry without providing an evidence of an IELTS score of 7.0. AOIC’s pathway Bible colleges include Hillsong International Leadership College, all the affiliated Australian College of Theology Colleges, all the affiliated Sydney College of Divinity Colleges and Wesley Institute – an outstanding total of 39 Bible colleges across all denominations.

AOIC’s Vision
Our vision is to provide an opportunity for ESL students to fulfill God's calling upon their lives. We aim to support our students in their calling by providing a Christian learning environment where they can develop competence in both spoken and written English.

AOIC’s Future Goals
AOIC will continue to seek opportunities both nationally and internationally to expand our platform to help ESL students to gain the language ability to further their studies with the aim of achieving their God-given calling.

Levels: Advanced, Basic, Intermediate

Weekly Hours: General 15-25 hrs/wk

We call it “Active English” (AE) as it makes you want to talk and live a fuller life in Australia! “ General English is designed to focus on the development of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills for basic everyday use. The primary focus is to equip students with enough English to live in an English-speaking country. There are four levels in this course. Students may enter the course from the Elementary level and move up to the Pre-intermediate and the Intermediate level and finish at the Upper Intermediate level.

English Academic preparation

Weekly Hours: General 15-25 hrs/wk

We call it “Academic English” (AE) as it prepares you to study in higher education programs at the university. The course is designed to develop academic English of students who wish to further their studies in vocational or higher education. It involves speaking, listening, reading and writing skills as well as research and essay writing. There are two levels and four exit scores in this course. This course offers two streams - general and nursing. Students may choose to study general academic study or nursing academic study.

Professional English

Weekly Hours: General 15-25 hrs/wk

We call it “Christian English” (CE) as it prepares you to study and live in Christian environment. English for Theology is designed to develop English competence for Theological studies in Australian Bible colleges. It provides English skills to meet the social and academic needs of students intending to live in a Christian context. It give students the language skills necessary to understand Christian literature and the Biblical text. It also aims to build the reading, writing, listening and speaking skills of students that apply to Christian ministry, such as preaching and public presentations, Bible study, worship leading and other kinds of Christian communication. There are four levels in this course. This course provides a pathway to selected Bible Colleges.

Junior English Programs

This course is for students aged: 13-70

Students who wish to enter a high school at the completion of English language studies may study this program as an additional study while participating in the General English course. This program runs for 4 hours a week plus attending high school once day a week. It is not suitable as a full-time studies on its own without studying the General English course as it is not a full-time course registered on CRICOS.
