About University of Illinois - Intensive English Institute
The Intensive English Institute at the University of Illinois offers English courses on a world-famous campus, which is located in Champaign-Urbana, a friendly and attractive midwestern town (population 100,000) located in east central Illinois, about 200 km from Chicago.
Our intensive English program is a 20-hour/week academic program designed for students who want to develop skills they will need in undergraduate and graduate programs in the U.S, and for students who want to build their skills for their professional career. Fifteen-week sessions begin in January and August; the eight-week summer session begins in June. IEI students enjoy the same exceptional recreational, cultural, and computer facilities as other University of Illinois students. In addition to participating in regular U of I activities, IEI students are invited to join in a Conversation Partners program with American students, participate in special field trips, and engage in social and cultural activities designed for IEI students. Accommodations are available both in University dormitories and in private apartments.

My English has been improving a lot since i came to IEI. Many of my American friends including my convopartners have helped me get used to american life and have revised my broken English. And i used to attend to most of IEI programs. It was very fun to be able to make many international friends. I believe IEI is adequate worthwile taking for a year. :)
