Lessons concentrate on interaction in Speaking and Listening, but time is also devoted to Reading, Writing, Vocabulary, Idioms, and Functional Grammar. The General English curriculum is conducted through the use of school designed materials, typically grammar and vocabulary-based, with extensive use of multi-media resources for extra practice.

Homework tasks and educational excursions also form an integral part of the General English program, usually on a Friday after students have been given a regular end-of-week assessment on what has been taught in that particular week.

Class sizes are kept at a minimum and the multi-cultural atmosphere within each class enables students to make excellent progress in a short time frame.

The IELTS Preparation course is designed to help students achieve the score they require to enter TAFE or university. Students learn test skills in the four main language components – listening, reading, writing and speaking – based on relevant topics.

The students' progress is measured through end-of-week practice tests, which are followed up by both written and verbal feedback and guidance by the teacher. Students are given the opportunity to learn under examination conditions, which fully prepares them for sitting the IELTS test. Time is allocated for writing development, with the teacher setting up workshop-style sessions, where he/she provides personalised tuition on how best to produce a coherent letter, graph/table interpretation and essay.
