About Golden Gate Language Schools
Our English language school offers Intensive English, TOEFL and college preparation, conversation classes and business English. Since 1979, we have been providing effective English instruction year-round for beginning students to advanced learners in a friendly atmosphere.
We believe that learning the English language takes place inside and outside the classroom. At Golden Gate Language Schools, we offer the best of both.
Inside the classroom, our accredited programs help you build a strong foundation of the language. Outside the class, our many social activities, the homestay programs, and your GGLS friends let you practice English anytime, all the time, and in all kinds of real-life situations.
This process of learning which combines GGLS instruction and constant practice of English helps you gain confidence and fluency in English.
All members of our administrative staff are experienced and knowledgeable and have been with GGLS for many years. They can provide information, advice and assistance on academic issues as well as adjusting to life in America.
All of our English language instructors are highly qualified teaching professionals. Most hold masters degrees and/or certificates for teaching English as a Second Language. Our teachers have lived or traveled outside of the United States and are sensitive to the difficulties you might experience when you come to a new country. Whether you want to prepare for college, improve your English for your job or study for personal reasons, they will help you reach your goals.
Golden Gate Language School offers students modern classrooms with flat panel screens and a well-equipped lunchroom facility with complimentary coffee and tea. In addition, there is a computer laboratory for class work, email and internet, as well as free wireless internet access throughout the school. The administrative offices are also conveniently located on the premises.

Golden Gate Language Schools offers a selection of TOEFL preparation courses. All classes focus on strategies, language review and test taking skills to improve your score.
INSTITUTIONAL TOEFL TEST
Every month, the Institutional TOEFL Test is administered by GGLS under the authorization of the Educational Testing Service. Space is limited and reservations are required.
Golden Gate Language School maintains a formal transfer agreement with several regional and national universities and colleges. Affiliate institutions will accept, without TOEFL scores, applicants who have satisfactorily completed level 12 of the GGLS Intensive English Program. Guaranteed transfer assumes that other GGLS and affiliate institution requirements have been met.

INTENSIVE ENGLISH PROGRAM
Our accredited program is designed to meet your needs. Whether you are an international student who is preparing to enter an American college or university, a professional who wants effective business English communication skills, or someone who simply wishes to reach English fluency, you will receive a custom tailored program. With over 40 classes, you will be able to select courses that will meet your personal goals.
12 levels of English, beginning to advanced

GGLS has two full-time programs.
• COLLEGE TRACK lets you complete each English proficiency level in 4 weeks. You will study 6 hours per day (30 hours per week) and reach English fluency and admission to one of our affiliate colleges and universities in the shortest possible time.
• GENERAL TRACK allows you to complete your English studies at a less intensive pace. You will study full-time but only 4.5 hours per day (22.5 hours per week).
Both programs allow you to study and practice English all day at the school – in the classroom, during social activities, at lunchtime and, of course, with your friends.
CUSTOM ENGLISH PROGRAM
Custom English offers you the greatest course flexibility. The curriculum is designed specifically for you. Your needs and goals form the basis for your lessons. Time is never wasted since you study only what is appropriate for you. In addition, your lessons are scheduled at your convenience.
