English Language Ireland (ELI) is a family-run English Language School founded in 2000 based on the Total Quality Management business model. Directors Ruth and Terry Coffey have a lifetime’s knowledge and experience in education and care. Based in Carlow Town, Gateway to the South East Region and yet only one hour from Dublin. Carlow offers 'the best of both worlds' where our clients experience 'the real Ireland'. ACADEMIC STAFF All teachers are university graduates qualified to teach English as a foreign language. Many have taught abroad and bring a wide range of academic and life experiences to the classroom. Their focus is on quality learning in a personal, relaxed and friendly atmosphere Our Teaching Methodology is focussed on learner needs and specific courses are custom built.

The General English part-time programme is designed and delivered based on the needs and commitments of the student. This course is particularly suitable for visitors to Ireland who work as au pairs, or for those undertaking official exams, for example Cambridge, IELTS etc.
