Great School! Great experience!

I LOVED my time at Accent Francais! I was so fortunate to have found it after initially attending another school in Montpellier. I found the teachers at Accent Francais to be so talented, CARING and fun! A very important combination of skill sets when you’re being thrown into an immersion language course! There were many differences between AF school and the other I attended. One of the big differences was how much better set up they were to encourage social interaction between students after classes. They have an entire area (indoor & outdoor) where students can “hang out” to eat lunch, get free tutoring to answer any additional questions they have and strike up friendships to practice what you’ve learned in class. Another difference was the fact they used technology to enhance the materials and the interaction between teachers and students. They had a program that we could access through apps on our phones to download materials from the class that day (including French audio), get access to homework assignments, etc. The other school didn’t have this either—limited to only paper. They also had great after school activities, a super fun goodbye party at the end of my 4 week stay and really engaged, lovely staff—starting with the school’s Director--to make things happen for us! Would highly recommend them! I’ve learned SO much. I’m back the US now, but planning my next opportunity to go back!

Please do not go to this school.

One of the main reasons you see this school having great reviews is because of their social media team doing a good job. In reality, this is an extremely poor and badly run institution that takes huge amounts of money from foreign students and after offering them substandard courses from teachers who just don't care, they don't even give you any of your money back. One of my friends here got horribly treated by this school and lost a massive amount of money. When they asked to claim that money back, the school did not showed any empathy whatsoever and took all of the money. They even took the money that they paid for the examination fees that was not even supposed to be from them. I hope that Google publishes this review because somehow this school is aptly deleting all the negative reviews but I can assure you that this is a very very bad institution and while you may be attracted by the nice reviews, please know that almost all of them are written by the people who work here or the host families that work with them. The management of this school are rude, unsympathetic and downright abusive to foreign students, on top of that if you complain, they will not fix anything. The accommodation they provide is substandard and overly priced and the place where they provide studios, the French residents pay almost half of what you will pay. I hope that the French government takes some sort of action against these institutions whose primary activities rely on exploiting foreign students. Please do not fall for the trap! Don't go to this school!

My worst experience ever with a language school.

I am writing this review out of utter anguish and pain because of the way this horrible school treated me. First of all, I want to start by saying that I booked almost a 4-month long course here which costed me around 5100 euro and this school shamelessly took all of my money without refunding it. I do not even know where to start on how about this school is, but I will first start by accommodation. I chose to stay in the studio provided by the school and it’s a very small, hot, underequipped studio with tons of problems. I paid 700 euros a month for it and director of this school told me before my arrival that I am enjoying a very special price. Little did I knew that when I came here it was worse than a prison cell and when I told the French residents who live here that I’m paying 700 Euros, they were baffled and told me that I am brutally scammed.

Next part. The director of this school. Before arriving here, the director of this school told me how great her staff and the studies are, and since I needed to pass my C1 exams, I took the bait. When I arrived here, I found the staff were not very helpful and were straight up liars without any shame. They put in the wrong level from the get go and I was not able to understand many things that were discussed in the class. I also have a problem with anxiety and being in the wrong class made things worse. One of their staff members told me that they will put me at the right level from next week but then lied and told me that they will put me in the right level from next month. This technically means that I will lose money by being in the wrong class. On top of that, I found that the teachers here are largely incompetent and slow, their teaching styles are absolutely horrible and they pass most of the time chit chatting with their favourite students in class.
This is just the beginning of the story, I caught two of their staff members mocking me and making fun of me and as soon as I entered the building they stopped. I complained to the director of this school who then started to completely ignore all my messages and when I got frustrated and told her that I feel like I am getting scammed, she in return accused me of harassment. So technically they harassed me and were abusive with me, and when I complained to fix the problem, they turned around and accused me of the same thing that they were doing. I decided to leave this school because my anxiety got worse and it was extremely hard for me to arrange 5100 Euros so I begged the director of this school to give me some of my money back. She refused, I asked her if she can use the enormous amount of money, I sent her for private lessons. She refused again saying the contract doesn’t allow her.

She said that there is not a single possibility that I will get anything back. She kept on proposing me low-class courses to attend and I told her that I have a problem and I want to return to my country and I would’ve been perfectly okay if she would’ve given me at least some part of my money, but no! She didn’t show any compassion towards my medical condition or my financial condition. Moreover, she even took the 220 Euros that I paid for the examination fees and refused to even refund that even though this money was not even supposed to be for the school.

So, a recap. They offered horrible accommodation, they offered horrible courses, they put me in the wrong level, their staff made fun of me, when I complained and said that I no longer want to continue, the director did not refund me a single dime and on top of that accused me of being a bad person. I never seen such dishonest, deceiving, disrespectful people in my entire life. I will never forget the emotional and financial stress this disgusting school has caused me. Best French school with 22 years of experience. Sure! Most people book for 2-3 weeks so they never see the other side of this school. But I will never forget the lost money and the psychological hell they put me through.

MELHOR ESCOLA POSSÍVEL!

Amando cada momento vívido na Accent Français. Em apenas 1 mês sinto que meu nível de francês tem melhorado consideravelmente a cada dia. Professores extremamente capacitados e funcionários sempre dispostos a ajudar!

短期・中期・長期ともにお奨め

コメディ広場から程近いところにある3校舎あり、授業で使われるのはそのうち2つ。それぞれ徒歩数十秒で行き来できる距離で、アクセスも容易。
滞在期間は短期・中期・長期であろうとお奨めできる。
欲を言えば最低2週間ほどの受講をしたほうが学校の雰囲気を掴みやすく、また、街での過ごし方にも慣れてきやすいという印象。
1週間の滞在だと少しバタバタしてしまうかもしれないため、事前に計画を綿密に立てておく必要がある。
スタッフの方の対応が非常によく、また非常に多くの言語でのコミュニケーションが可能。（日本語は現時点で校長のフランス人女性のみ）
レベルにもよってしまうが、なるべく同じ国籍のものが被らないようになっているため、母語で話しかけられるストレスがなかった。

月曜日の午後にガイド付きの市内散策があり、これにさえ出ておけば別途個人で街を歩き回る必要は殆どない。
ただし、夏場は非常に暑く、また外を長く歩くため体力を削られるので注意が必要。

学校内は空調もあり、インターネット環境なども整っているので、午前の授業が終わり、午後は自習という過ごし方もできる。

Nur zu empfehlen★

Für mich ergab sich die Möglichkeit ein kaufmännisches Praktikum im Rahmen meiner Ausbildung bei Accent Français zu absolvieren und ich bin nach wie vor sehr glücklich darüber. Es waren eine der besten Erfahrungen meines Lebens und ich kann es allen nur weiterempfehlen!
Anfangs kam ich mit einem mulmigen Gefühl hierher aber dieses legte sich in nur wenigen Sekunden als mir das Team der Sprachschule vorgestellt wurde und alle super lieb zu mir waren. Dies änderte sich auch im Laufe des Praktikums nicht. Bei Fragen standen mir alle zur Seite und ich wurde in das Team vollintegriert, sodass ich gar nicht das Gefühl hatte nur Praktikantin zu sein☺ Ich kann auch sagen, dass man von Tag zu Tag mit den Aufgaben wächst und sich keine Sorgen machen muss, dass die Sprache einem zum totalen Verhängnis wird.
Für die letzte Woche wurde mir dann sogar ein Sprachkurs angeboten, den ich super fand. Vor allem die Lehrer sind super und man hat niemals das Gefühl man wird zu etwas gezwungen, im Gegenteil es herrscht eine lockere Stimmung und es wird viel gelacht ☺
Mir bleibt nichts Anderes übrig als euch unendlich dankbar für diese Zeit zu sein und ich werde euch sehr vermissen♥

Escola incrível

A Accent Français é uma escola incrível, muito bem localizada, próximo a mercados, lojas em um dos principais pontos da cidade, salas de aulas com computadores, laboratórios para tirar dúvidas com os professores. A cidade de Montpellier é o destino ideal para intercâmbio, pois tem diversas atividades de lazer dia e noite, além de ter um custo de vida muito melhor do que Paris e ficar próxima de diversos pontos turísticos da França.

Amazing stay in Montpellier

I've had a French class as a beginner for a month in Accent Français.
It was such a good experience in my life. The city is beautiful and safe.
And the course was really fun and the teachers were really kind and patient.
There were many school activities every day that I could choose such as tasting local food, cine club, and making French cousine. They also provide school excursions on the weekend to such as Arles and Marseille. I really enjoyed my time in Montpellier and I got to make lots of friends in Accent Français. There are so many students from all over the world from 16 to 60s and I was impressed and inspired their enthusiasm. I chose to stay in a student apartment which was spacious and clean; in a safe area and it took only 10 minutes by tram or 30minutes on foot. Many of the students stayed with French host families while I was there; and they told me they really enjoyed French cousine every evening.
If I have a chance to learn French again, I will definitely come back to Accent Français in Montpellier.

Accent Français

Accent Français est vraiment une école extraordinaire, mon séjour là-bas a été super. Les professeurs sont gentils, énergiques et professionnels. Les cours sont dynamiques et cherchent le vrai progrès des élèves. Il a été une opportunité pas seulement pour apprendre la langue française mais aussi pour connaître la culture et faire beaucoup des amis! :) Salutations du Mexique.
